26/08/2026: Excellent dinner! We hadn't thought to book, but we were kindly offered a vegetarian version of the local potato and prune dish to share. Good eggs mayonnaise, good beers, and delicious Ouesantine cow's milk cheese.

15/08/2026: You can enjoy a delicious meal with ease.
Fast service, a very warm welcome.
And the view is superb.
Go for it, it's fantastic!
06/08/2026: Fast service, great atmosphere, beautiful view. The food is okay, but there's room for improvement. I'd still like to go again.
It's also frequented by locals.
You should definitely make a reservation for the evening. Preferably inside, as it can get quite windy outside.

La Chaumière
Guilvinec
11/09/2026: What a wonderful surprise this charming regional establishment was! The dishes are clearly prepared with love, and the ingredients are fresh daily!
Thank you so much for this fabulous culinary journey! ⭐
[The low volume rock music was perfect 🥰👍]
09/09/2026: La Chaumière, a family-run and typically Breton establishment, features tasteful rock music with perfectly balanced sound. The cuisine focuses on fresh, seasonal ingredients, beautifully presented on the plate with the passion of a true chef! [Respect to him! ⭐⭐⭐] Recommendation for the tuna steak, the catch of the day 👍: cooked to perfection, just a quick sear: majestic! 🥰 My wife, meanwhile, was delighted with her (real fillet!!) fish and chips and a glass of Sauvignon. The homemade fries were authentic, and so was the owner! 😚👍 Thanks to the waiter who, despite being a bit rushed, knew the menu perfectly and demonstrated impeccable service ⭐
...with most of the local restaurants closed from Monday to Wednesday in September (🫤), we ended up here almost out of desperation...
And we were won over by this wonderful discovery! 😍 Congratulations and thank you again 🌟

Hotel Restaurant de la Plage
Audierne
07/06/2026: I booked a room at this hotel-restaurant for 10 hiking friends to be as close as possible to the ferry terminal for the Île de Sein, and also because I liked the hotel's website. We were all thrilled. The rooms are beautiful and impeccably clean. The large lounge is comfortable, with a lovely pool table and a bar stocked with a selection of the finest spirits. We had only booked dinner for the first evening, but it was so exquisite that we dined at the hotel every night, culminating in an absolutely unforgettable lobster dish on our last night. The owner and her daughter (an intellectual who hadn't initially planned on a career in hospitality) are, in fact, highly professional. The restaurant is tastefully furnished, bright, and overlooks the sea; my only complaint: it's 2,000 km from our home in Rome!
02/06/2026: We had a great stay in a very convenient location with a sea view, free parking, a very warm welcome from the owner, a very good breakfast with plenty of choice, and Carole was always available if you needed anything. She was very kind. Thank you for everything, and have a great season!

Restaurant Hotel de l'ocean
Concarneau
28/01/2026: Arriving in January and not having heating in the rooms isn't very pleasant. The boiler supposedly takes a long time to start, according to the receptionist (I think it simply wasn't running).
13/01/2026: Upon arrival, the receptionist seemed frozen, which was a bad start… then the elevator broke down. When I got to the room, it must have been 15 degrees Celsius. I was hoping to work on my computer, but it was impossible. I had to take refuge in bed, adding extra blankets and cold, damp sheets. The bathroom fan heater ran for part of the night to try and raise the temperature, but it was noisy, so the night was short and bad. Clearly, the room hadn't been heated for some time, so it was a very bad experience for me. I can understand that there might be a heating problem or that the heating system is being used economically, but I would have liked to have been informed before paying so I could have chosen whether to stay or not. The hotel owner was perfectly aware of the heating problem, but no compensation or additional heating was offered. I do not recommend this hotel and will not return. It's a shame because the hotel is well located and quiet.

Atlantic Express
Brest
25/07/2026: Visiting after the reopening of the tropical pavilion, we were disappointed: the focus has been placed on screens, small, medium, and very large. It was sad to see that pixelated fish on giant screens serve as an aquarium in the children's area... We saw everything in less than an hour and a half and regret that the ticket price remains so high for what it has become.
25/07/2026: One of the great aquariums of the world.
However, there think they should advertise that a major hall is closed presently. This was very disappointing.
It’s a huge complex and needs half a day **at least** to see it all.
There is a very strong focus on education and one of the halls (Océanautes) is absolutely dedicated to educating children at primary school level. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a museum or wildlife centre as laser-focused on education.
It is apparently very busy much of the day but if you get a two-day pass (Océan Pass) you can go in late on (say 4pm) and there are very few people there.
One disappointment was the lack of English (or any foreign language books) for sale in the large shop: this surely is a missed commercial opportunity.
