09/04/2026: Good day. "The pest" is writing a review of this magnificent restaurant where we had a very good meal with admittedly slow but excellent service. At the end of our meal, which, by the way, was quite expensive (a table at €700), we politely asked the waiter who had been with us throughout our meal—in fact, when the room was empty—my friends and I offered him a drink to thank him for his kindness, if that was possible. The waiter offered us a digestif and coffee, and we replied that yes, if it was on the house. He left, then another waiter returned and offered us the same thing again. We gave the same answer, and then he told us that it wouldn't be possible. We simply said yes and got up to pay the bill. The manager (who should be fired, by the way, she has caused the establishment to lose some very good customers, we will make sure everyone knows it) took our payment and I said that a table at €700 simply asked for a digestif and that it was not possible, we agreed but we will not come back because if you don't know how to be a businessman, you have to expect to lose customers, she took our payment and then left for another one. No one comes to ask if we need our change, so I say yes, and we go back to our table to finish our drinks. Then this infamous manager arrives with a waiter and a bottle of Génépi (a friend was in the restroom when this manager said to the customers waiting behind us to be charged, "Gentlemen, would you like a Génépi? It's on the house. As for the table of girls in the back, they're real bitches who ask for a digestif, so they won't be getting one." Unfortunately for you, my friend overheard everything. Then she comes to the table and tells us that the digestif is offered with pleasure, which I don't really believe. Anyway, we talk, and she looks me up and down, calling me a haughty bitch. Have a very good day, Madam Manager, hoping you get fired for being so rude to your customers. It's unacceptable for an establishment to hire people like that. Sincerely, The Bitch

26/04/2026: When we first arrived in Grenoble three years ago, this was our favorite restaurant 🥰, always with two terraces packed with customers, but what a change in the last year or so! The efficient, kind, and friendly waitress left... and everything's gone downhill! The pizzas are still just as good, but with fewer toppings! You can count the customers on two hands! The wait is over half an hour just to have your order taken!!! (supposedly to avoid overloading the kitchen) with so few customers now, it's incomprehensible! A young, inexperienced waitress who doesn't understand customers' needs doesn't clear the tables, or clears them way too late when they get up to pay! Some customers had dessert menus... but because it took too long, they left without ordering any! Others leave after a 20-minute wait without even ordering, and nobody comes to see them! They turn away customers at 2:20 PM even though they say "the kitchen closes at 2:30 PM!!" (8 customers!! That's not nothing!) Really disappointed with the service. Another small detail: the placemats are expired and fit for the bin! It looks neglected! There's a lack of greenery, even artificial, along the facades. It's a real shame 😞😞😞. You're losing customers. Refusing to serve drinks to four people at 2 PM in the pub area is unprofessional; they went to the pub next door...!!!! Do something about it!

19/03/2026: Since the owner left, the service has been more than disappointing; the young man at the till is very rude, and the kitchen staff is even worse. When I ordered a kebab, there was more sauce than meat, and the fries were a measly ten or so. Frankly, it was disappointing for the price.

07/03/2026: Excellent service, a great place to recommend, and very welcoming.

30/03/2026: Exceptional pastries and macarons. The staff is very friendly, even during peak hours. The Black Forest cake is divine; I loved the raspberry version. The macarons were a little fresh, but delicious, and choosing them with the staff was a real pleasure!

17/03/2026: The products were decent in terms of both price and quality; however, the service was truly appalling. The woman responded curtly when asked if there was room for two, then proceeded to stare at the customers with a vulgar expression. I don't think she understands where her salary comes from.

12/04/2026: We came for a light snack on a rainy Sunday, which was a shame because we all ordered waffles that were really very dry and we didn't even finish our meals! The coffee was undrinkable (and that's coming from a big coffee lover). Aside from that, the setting is really pleasant and the staff are very kind and helpful.

19/04/2026: We waited 20 minutes for our order to be taken, and when we asked if we could take it, we were directed to other servers.

18/04/2026: "Squeezed" orange juice… with an unexpected twist of creativity We came to Häagen-Dazs expecting real, freshly squeezed orange juice, as indicated on the menu. Chef's surprise. We had the privilege of catching the owner in the act of preparing something: a clever blend of half freshly squeezed juice and half industrial juice straight from his secret stash. A house concoction dubbed "premium squeeze" for the occasion. For the price of the glass, we expected a bit more clarity and freshness. The result was decent… but clearly less vibrant than a truly 100% freshly squeezed juice. A shame, because we come to Häagen-Dazs for quality, not for this kind of orange half-measure. The ice cream remains excellent, that's undeniable. But as for the orange juice, we'll pass as long as this little trick from the secret stash continues. Rating: 2/5 (I'm being lenient... but not blind.)

26/02/2026: €6.80 for a tiny lemon tart barely filled with lemon cream. That's highway robbery! Taste-wise, it's very similar to a lemon tart you'd buy in a supermarket. Outrageous and disrespectful to customers.

14/03/2026: Everything was perfect, the food was top-notch, the tacos and American-style burgers were perfect, and the young man at the reception was smiling and welcoming. I highly recommend this place.

14/03/2026: First time trying it this week, the concept seemed promising at first: ordering on a screen, personalized with first name entry, and a good selection. So far, so good. We waited for our order, a good 10 minutes for a taco and a kebab (which wasn't really a kebab, but half a baguette with kebab filling inside). While we waited, we had a direct view of the food being prepared in the kitchen, and we saw one of the employees blow his nose, then wipe his forehead with the same tissue, before packing the takeout orders without having washed his hands... What's more, he saw us watching him, but hygiene clearly didn't occur to him. Anyway, the order was finished, I had given my first name, so I was waiting to be called to take my order at the counter, but no one called me... the order just sat there on the counter, waiting for me to figure out what it was. When they finally realized no one was coming, they called the order number. Why did I bother leaving my name? I didn't understand... In the end, the meat was dry, the bread was soggy and dripping with sauce... the fries were soggy and unsalted. What a shame...

09/03/2026: Very disappointed. Eating in at Paul's will cost you more than 10% of what you eat, and all that just for a salad in a cardboard container and a Perrier in a plastic bottle. The reason for this extra charge? The dishes on the tray—unbelievable! In short, it's better to eat elsewhere; the food is just as good, and I get a free meal when I eat in!

21/02/2026: We ordered cappuccinos to go and received lattes instead! If you can't make proper milk foam, you should just tell customers there isn't any rather than trying to sell you something for the sake of selling. Frankly, I've had cappuccinos at other Paul bakeries and the quality was impeccable. If you go there, definitely order a cold drink and avoid the coffee!
