19/05/2026: I loved discovering Pizzeria Capriccio ✨
A small, unpretentious Italian restaurant, simple and welcoming, but with food that's truly worth the trip. The pesto pasta was absolutely delicious: generous, full of flavor, and comforting, just the way we like it 🫶🏼
And then the panna cotta… a true marvel. Creamy, light, perfectly balanced—clearly one of the best I've ever had 😭🤍
But what makes the place even more enjoyable is the kindness of the couple who run the restaurant. You immediately feel the warmth, simplicity, and love they put into their cooking and welcoming their customers ☺️
It just goes to show that the most "Instagrammable" places aren't always the ones that leave the best memories. A wonderful Italian surprise in Saint-Étienne 🇮🇹✨

A lovely atmosphere, fresh morning produce, simplicity, and good food.
No lies here to lull the customer into complacency.
It exudes respect and kindness.
And all this at more than reasonable prices for the quality of the ingredients and the cuisine.
For lovers of good food and homemade dishes...

Very warm welcome, impeccable service. For those who do not have much time between noon and two or who want to eat after a movie session around 10 p.m. you can even order by phone to be served faster...

Only one drawback: it's too noisy.

Whether it's pizzas, pasta, or meat, everything is well-presented, generous, and unpretentious.

Very bad experience
I ordered the set menu. For starters, a 5cm x 5cm piece of country pâté with two lettuce leaves and a quarter of a tomato, followed by four pieces of grilled meat (a chorizo like on a children's menu, two chicken tenders where you had to find the meat, the same for the marinated pork where I had to gnaw on the bone), served with regular fries, all for 22 euros. I strongly advise against it 👎

08/05/2026: The hotel is well located and the staff are welcoming. However, we chose this hotel because it has a restaurant, but it seems to have been closed for two years, and I didn't see any mention of this on the website. We therefore had to go to a nearby changing room, but it was outside the hotel itself. Furthermore, there were no power outlets near the bed (or they were very well hidden), and only one bedside table. My partner has a CPAP machine, which we plugged into the bathroom, and I used a chair as a bedside table. Disappointed.
On the other hand, the breakfast was plentiful.

01/05/2026: We arrived to get takeaway pizzas and we really felt like we were bothering them. No one was there to greet us, we were spoken to rudely, they really need to go back to basics with their service.
The pizza wasn't even cut into slices; we had to tear it to pieces to eat it, and honestly, it looked small compared to the box. In short, disappointed.
It was 7:30 pm, so far from peak hours.
In short, disappointed.

10/12/2025: We made a last-minute reservation for a group and were very well received and had a wonderful meal.
02/11/2025: We're definitely not going back!!!! I asked for the mojito to be remade; it was full of black, slimy bits floating in the water. The veal Milanese was like cardboard ham, yuck!!! The pesto on the pasta wasn't good quality. I asked the cook for an explanation, and his response was, "The meat comes from a butcher in Saint-Genest." I highly doubt it!!!! The pizza was thin and not very good, just like everything else. A complete disaster 🙄 Very disappointed. We didn't order dessert. The owner told us when we paid, "I'll give you the aperitifs on the house, and I don't think we'll see you again!"
