18/09/2024: We experienced only a cold welcome, and were placed "in line" with a view on the carré. The ambiance of the restaurant was both clean (=not warm) as well as messy (attempt to present a modern bright interior failed in our view). We were served by a waiter who smelled quite heavily (sweat), and also other guests experienced his scent with disgust. Our tarte tatin and saumon tartare were burned and average at best, respectively. The main course (volaille) was not well cooked. One of us got served the meat with raw parts still in it. Service from other waitresses was poor too, lacking interest for our feedback. I'm afraid we were very disappointed in the Carrè de Saveurs. We received a bottle of wine upon exit as token of goodwill for our suffering. Although this was somewhat soothing our temper, the overwhelming conclusion has to be that dining in this restaurant was very disappointing, not living up to its pretentious profile at all. Please do not expect anything close to fine dining. We were genuinely surprised to see that Le Guide Rouge de Michelin handed out its "fork+knife" here.

Petite boutique à l intérieur proposant des tas de petites choses artisanales allant de la poterie aux bijoux en passant par les vêtements
Vente également de vin produit sur le site (très bon) et de produits locaux

10/09/2024: An exceptional site on the heights of Nîmes. The clubhouse is emblematic, because the building refers to the White House. The course is superb. To discover and/or redo.

04/09/2024: Nestled in an adorable patio, sheltered from the tourist flow, Marie Rosé was a wonderful gastronomic adventure for me! Like the owners, the cuisine is simple, without frills and in the purest tradition of southern flavors. The zucchini fritters stuffed with Nîmes brandade were as beautiful as they were delicious, the grilled barbus cooked to perfection and the desserts each more delicious than the last. An address to be reserved for those in the know who know how to appreciate the work and talent of a formidable cook.
13/08/2024: Simple and good food... but really too simple and as a result the average price is too high... a grilled fish accompanied by a slice of lemon and a potato gratin, no effort of presentation in luxury dishes canteen... the manager is borderline friendly or even aggressive... in short, a priori some people like it. 05/09/2024: Superb waitress, friendly and smiling who does what she can because she is alone to serve a full terrace and who keeps smiling despite the old complainers.
04/09/2024: Deplorable reception from the start. After waiting 10 minutes, we were asked to change places, then we had to wait another 15 minutes for someone to finally take our orders. Despite a clearly repeated order, the waitress still gets it wrong. To top it off, the toilets were inaccessible for 30 minutes because they were being cleaned. And as if that wasn't enough, the bar manager attacked me, asking me where I was going and if I was a customer. A disappointing experience from start to finish. To flee!!

La dame prenant la commande est très bien rien à redire mais le monsieur quel comédien !!! Raconte à tout le monde qu’il est normalement en cuisine et non au service alors que je suis venue plusieurs fois et toujours en salle!
Moules Marinière bof bof plus de la moitié était fermé heureusement elles étaient à volonté
Entrecote de taureau demandé à point, eu bleu et glacée et franchement je n’ai pas reconnu le goût de la viande ,servi très clair presque blanche alors que le taureau est une viande assez foncé et goutu
Ma remarque n’a pas plus à Mr le serveur
Du coup parti sans dessert ni café quel dommage, avant tout étaient excellent
16/09/2024: Be careful ⚠️ if you have a stroller you may be rejected because you take up too much space, perhaps the parents consume less than the other customers? .

04/08/2024: Large parking lot, typical restaurant of the region, beautiful covered and uncovered terraces plus a room. Slate cards, little choice but we want to eat it all. Fast and friendly service. The prices are largely reasonable for the quality of the cuisine and service.

09/09/2024: D’apparence extérieure simple, la terrasse ombragée vous fera oublier la devanture discrète.
A peines la porte d’entrée franchie, l’accueil réservé est très chaleureux. La carte sans être longue comprend de belles propositions. Tant les gambas, que la potence que le tartare coupé au couteau étaient succulents. Et que dire des frites, dignes des meilleures friteries de Belgique ! Un repas agrémenté et du vin local de bonne facture, rehaussé par la charmante patronne et son apprentie nous invitent à vous recommander cet endroit. Bon appétit !

We were well received there, the service was impeccable and the cuisine was top notch.
The prices are fair, the staff is very friendly.

After booking for 6, and asking to move back 30 minutes because a couple of friends were going to be late, we were told not to come! I then clarified that we could be on time at 4, but we were already no longer welcome... I've never seen that, it's just a shame.
It seems that the dishes are good, but this management approaches a false reservation...
All this without mentioning the arrogance of the boss over the phone or when I read his responses to Google reviews... what does he have to say?

07/12/2024: Small family tratoria style room, excellent gluten-free and vegetarian pizza, and gluten-free brownies for dessert, a gourmet treat that I generally have to do without outside the house.
Plus organic and local products, what more could you ask for, we'll come back.
18/11/2024: Very good artisanal pizzas and different surprising pasta recipes. We loved it!!

03/12/2024: I've looked at this little restaurant a few times and thought that I should give it a try. The weather allowed us to sit outside; the seating inside was limited. The table and chairs were basic and uncomfortable for a long, lingering lunch. The service was friendly and the meal arrived promptly.
I say it arrived promptly but .... we ordered a Tagine/Tajine and a Pastilla but we were told that the Pastilla would take 1 hour to cook. So we ordered one Tagine and thought that if it was OK we would order another.
The Tagine did arrive, it was fresh, hot but lacked the depth of flavour you would expect. We ordered the lamb and the amount of meat was reasonable. Overall the dish was acceptable without being outstanding. A stew rather than a tagine. Something that didn't have any of the flavours that many people would put into their tagines. Typically ras-el-hanout or a house blend of cayenne pepper, paprika, ginger, turmeric, cinnamon etc.
Needless to say, we decided not to order another dish. the glass of wine was larger than other places in town but the red was cold, very cold.
When we went to pay, we were charged 2€ extra for eating on the premises. This was despite the fact that the menu gave 1 price for "sur le place" and another for taking away. So yes, they charged the eating price plus 2€.
If you would like a tagine in Uzès, do not try here. Maybe wait until Le Provencal put one on their plat du jour
