07/09/2024: We went here whilst visiting family in the area. The food was really mixed good, we had 3 meals of which mine, the Entrecôte steak was barely edible. It was so tough I could barely eat it. It was busy whilst we were there and the service was not great, we waited over an hour for our meal and all the time there was a guy paying the piano and singing, he was quiet good but far to loud for the space and we could barely hear each other speak, all in all a really disappointing experience. I am sure on a different night it may be better.

12/09/2024: We arrived full of optimism. The frites were ok - the steak, the duck, the weird prawn and cheese concoction were all inedible. BTW. sprinkling sesame seeds over congealed gravy does not elevate a dish. It just makes it look weird.

10/09/2024: Cadre chaleureux Service sympathique De la cuisine bistrot de très bon niveau, de la viande d’excellente qualité et un petit vin qui accompagne bien. Nous avons passé une excellente soirée

21/09/2024: Difficult to give one star! We had "lunch" in this "restaurant" yesterday afternoon and really do not recommend it. Very small mussels, very cooked but not very numerous. Beef “bavette d’loyau” overcooked and difficult to cut. Thick, lumpy maroilles sauce, little taste. Pretty decent fries. Bread: 3 slices of slightly dry industrial bread. Too bad there is a very good bakery nearby. Prices too high for the quality, €19 for mussels, €5.50 for beer... We didn't take the risk of ordering coffee and dessert (dessert from the bakery). Around us, a group of Normans will not have good memories of the local gastronomy. Whether Flammekueche or pizza, the base is puff pastry with large blackened edges! and the very light filling. At the checkout, the lady who asked my opinion seemed very surprised that I answered “very average”.... In short, La Paloma seems like a tourist trap to avoid. And I'm not mistaken about the address, it's 50 place du général de Gaulle.

13/11/2023: In the Times of Em Friendly decoration and pleasant team (one could hardly be less friendly than the late Le Vauban), the toilets are almost dilapidated and cramped, accessing them in a wheelchair is not possible… Children's plates too full, waste +++, seeing to reduce the quantity and adjust the price would be very appreciable! Imposing a different accompaniment than that mentioned on the menu without even warning customers is not really professional. And it's better to avoid ordering fries if you're hungry because overcooked, they are inedible 😳 in short, a lot of money wasted, but not for everyone!!

07/11/2023: Came with a group of 32 people in October 2023 for the end of year meal of a vintage car club. Already problems on arrival with a poor welcome and a poorly managed seating problem. The aperitif was served immediately without any accompaniment. For the meal itself, for €26 main course - dessert - coffee, menu chosen in advance with a choice between two main courses and two desserts, we were treated to bad home cooking: a lukewarm, salt-free forest filet mignon with overcooked and dry meat, a forest sauce without mushrooms which should not be homemade and overcooked spaghetti. All prepared school canteen style. Those who had the fish didn't like it either. For dessert, either a cold tarte tatin with whipped cream, or a gourmet coffee with sticky rice salad, a dry chocolate cake that had to be at least three days old and cold, sticky applesauce. Warm coffee served with dessert to make us leave faster. This restaurant has better reviews so it must treat its individual customers better but that day it upset a whole group and lost a lot of potential customers; including us. Some members of the group, including me, posted a comment on the restaurant's Facebook page. For my part, I was not asked for my opinion when I paid. The manager obviously did not appreciate, and even less recognized, these unanimous criticisms from an entire group: my comment was deleted and I was banned from the Facebook page. Funny way to deal with customers and problems!!
