02/04/2026: I didn't understand the French Menu (normally I do) - I said I didn;t but there wasn't one person in the restaurant who offerered a word of English, despite my poor French attempts at asking of details of the food. Ended up with some non-descript white fish covered in foam, which seems to be the presentation du jour but offers no additional/complimentary flavour and just hides what lies beneath. Which in this case was what tasted like uncooked black rice and the outer shells of brussel sprouts which if that whisp of vegetation is all they can offer with a dish, means that I'm out of step with noveau French cuising from a 3* Michelin Chef. I'm sorry, the HULK of bread offered to compensate for lack of vegetables, did not impress and the juxtoposition of a hipster (glassware made of recycled wine bottles) joint, within a generic Best Western Hotel... No. Sorry, this was not a hit. Very disappointing.

21/02/2026: Nice, industrial setting. The starter and main course were very good. Fantastic Tarte Tatin!

13/04/2026: We had a wonderful time at this restaurant! The welcome was truly warm, the staff were friendly and attentive throughout the meal. We immediately felt at ease, which made the experience even more enjoyable. And as a bonus, the food was excellent! Delicious, well-prepared dishes that made us want to come back. A place to recommend without hesitation.

21/01/2026: It's always a pleasure to rediscover Mr. Duvivier's flavorful cuisine, long known in the Lille suburbs... here everything is fresh and homemade, so it's normal to wait between courses, and it allows you to savor a good time with friends or family.

26/03/2026: Really disappointing won't come back again. Steak tough. Red wine served cold. Had to ask for water 3 times. Sides of salad and chips to share very small.

25/03/2026: Have eaten here for several years on our annual visit to Montreuil sur Mer. Tonight, however, they seemed under-staffed generally (one server and two in the kitchen). Our steak main course was so rare. We ordered medium rare, were served bleu and the bill showed saignant. The kitchen grudgingly cooked our steaks a little more but they were still tough and the un-serrated knives couldn’t cope with them. By that time we had completely lost our appetites. We won’t return - sadly. We leave Montreuil with the unhappy memory of a poor meal and poor service at the Darnetal Restaurant.

25/03/2026: What a wonderful discovery this restaurant in Montreuil-sur-Mer was! The welcome was warm, the service impeccable, and the dishes we chose were delicious and generous. We will definitely return.

16/03/2026: A very bad experience. I ordered a croque-monsieur, and what I received was truly unworthy of a restaurant: two simple slices of crusty white bread, a slice of ham, and a little cheese. No real preparation or effort whatsoever; it looked like a hastily thrown-together sandwich. After eating, I also experienced quite severe stomach pains, which made me wonder if the ingredients were even fresh. Another very surprising point: seeing slices of rosette sausage, clearly from Carrefour City, being used to serve customers. For a restaurant, that's frankly unacceptable. And to top it all off: no more Coke, no more citrus drinks… many things were missing. In short, a very disappointing experience. I do not recommend it; avoid it.

13/03/2026: Beautiful setting, very pleasant service, and excellent food. We had a wonderful evening. Much better than before.

11/03/2026: Unlike some, we had a very good stay. From the welcome to the food...top-notch. Highly recommended and we'll definitely be back.
