Le Lodge
Morzine
22/03/2026: AVORIAZ and especially the AMARA residence offers a unique and unforgettable experience!
21/03/2026: An amazing location, perfect for ski in and out. Heated ski lockers underneath building and straight out onto slopes.
We upgraded our room for a mountain view and we're really pleased with our apartment. Fabulous views and away from any noise below. Quiet area of resort though, so didn't expect this to be much of a problem, however the views were incredible.
Accomodation was great and very clean.
Reception staff were very helpful and a nice touch being able to order croissants/ bakery bits night before.
Skied with ESF ski school who were very good.
Walk into the main town was approx 15 mins away. Cafes nearby though.
Nearby shops could deliver food to apartment if required.
Drove to resort and parking underneath the hotel made our arrival and departure very easy, trolleys available to load luggage up, to take to apartment. Lots of parking spaces. Did need snow chains to exit resort on last day.
Picked up online ordering of ski passes in hotel reception. Everything seemed to be covered to make our stay very straightforward.
Spa, though was a disappointment. Outside saunas did not work during our week and only 1 of the steam rooms.
Swimming pool was lovely though.

Alpine Lounge
Morzine
04/03/2026: Thank you for the warm welcome and prompt service.
We shared the raclette for two.
Very good.
A minor point about the charcuterie 😉
Perhaps the selection could be rebalanced.
- less potato
- less cheese 🧀
- more charcuterie
Also, a wider selection of white wine by the glass would be appreciated.
We had a very pleasant time.
01/03/2026: Avoid this establishment unless you have a deep affection for disappointment and an evening to waste.
A group of us went for what was supposed to be a straightforward, reliable dinner. Nothing adventurous. No molecular gastronomy. Just classic dishes that countless kitchens manage perfectly well every single day. Apparently, that was already asking too much.
The meals arrived with all the consistency of a raffle draw. Same items ordered, yet each plate looked like it had been prepared by a different person in a different decade, with only a vague description passed between them. Gratin dauphinois was more fondue with small suggestions of potato, peppercorn sauce was all cream no peppercorns
The steaks we ordered were like nothing I've experienced - texture was a particular highlight. As much as I love the versatility of oxen from hides to steaks there are only certain cuts suitable for for the dining table. Alpine Lodge seems to think chewing down on a firm leather hide as a delicacy - I do not share the same fervour for dining on that part of the cow. It was less dining, more sensory confusion.
When we raised this — calmly, I might add — the response was astonishing. Not concern. Not even polite indifference. Instead, we were treated to a masterclass in defensiveness, as though we had personally offended the chef’s ancestry. There was a lot of explaining, very little listening, and absolutely no sense that customer satisfaction had entered the building at any point.
Attempts to resolve things dragged on far longer than the meal itself. Every simple point required discussion, consultation, and what felt like an internal tribunal. You’d think we were disputing a property boundary rather than asking why dinner was inedible.
Eventually, a partial concession was made, seemingly as a gesture of exhaustion rather than goodwill. By that stage, we’d lost our appetites and most of our enthusiasm for humanity.
We left underfed, overcharged, and baffled that a place dedicated to serving food could appear so surprised when asked to do it well.
There are plenty of places nearby that understand the basics: cook the food properly, treat people decently, and don’t argue with the table. Try one of those instead. Rotonde was by far our favourite
One star. Generous, if anything.

La Tanière
Morzine
04/04/2026: A fantastic weekend! The food was excellent! Damien, a top-notch waiter! So kind! I highly recommend it!
14/03/2026: Excelent service and food!
Very nice and atteintive waiters: Damian, Charles and especially Hugo that made some jokes with us about the IPA beer 🤭. So Hugo, let's keep in mind that Indian Pale Ale 🤗. Don't miss the Fox Den or la Taniere de Renard.
Merci encore une fois!

La Boule de Neige
Morzine
10/04/2026: A fantastic experience at La Boule de Neige in Avoriaz! ❄️🍽️ We ate very well; the dishes were delicious and generously portioned. The welcome was warm and the atmosphere truly pleasant. A great place to eat in the resort; we highly recommend it!
06/04/2026: A decent enough dinner, but with a lot of processed ingredients.
We ordered two pizzas to take away the next day.
It was before 7 pm, and they managed to make a mistake and give us a Margherita instead of an Italian pizza…
The pizzas were pretty good! But…
The end of the season is clearly tough.
It's a shame, the staff are quite friendly.
Edit: Second attempt at ordering pizzas. No more pizzas available after 6 pm on Easter Sunday.
This is a typical tourist trap. Avoid it if you can.

Le Tyrolia
Morzine
23/01/2026: Amazing staff, food and location
14/12/2025: Just the best place for plat du jour or a great burger. The coffee is excellent and the hosts are very friendly. Much more French than the places nearby and a welcome break from just tourist food.

La Falaise
Morzine
22/03/2026: We received a very warm welcome, the service was quick, the food was excellent, and the staff were very attentive to our 15-month-old child.
We will definitely return during our stay, as our experience at this restaurant was the complete opposite of the negative reviews we had read.
18/03/2026: 1 star is too much.
Service was terrible. Long wait for our order to be taken.
Waiter seemed to spend more time on his phone.
Food was an embarrassment to French cuisine.
Steak served raw then nuked in a microwave. Absolutely drenched in some unidentified 'sauce' with tinned vegetables and 9 chips.
Paid £28 for that. Splendid stuff.
Had the audacity to actually ask for a tip 🤣
I'll give you a tip... train your staff and employ a new chef.

Le Grand Pre
Morzine
29/07/2024: As always, the perfect summer lunch. Quick, friendly service and by far the best beignets (local version of rosti) in the mountains. The owner/chef, Jean-Roger has his own secret recipe and they're to die for - light, crisp and melt in your mouth. Generous servings and beautifully presented. I've been coming here for five years and have never had a bad meal. The menu changes in the ski season and I'm already looking forward to coming back in December for my anchovy pizza.
