10/05/2026: Passing through Rouen on a Sunday evening, we ordered a meat-based pizza (which the gentlemen enjoyed), a Normandy pizza, a 5 Cheese pizza, and a potato and bacon pizza.
I found them very good. I was expecting more Camembert and flavor from the Normandy pizza. But at €9 a pizza, that's reasonable, and the toppings were generous.

26/05/2026: I'd been here several times for the carbonara and it was always excellent. But today, I was very disappointed: the cook clearly used far too much pepper, to the point that the dish was inedible. What's more, when we pointed it out to the waiter, he didn't even bother to react or offer a solution. A truly disappointing experience this time; I wouldn't recommend it.

No local specialties, a poorly detailed and misleading menu.
I'm very disappointed, as I was a regular at Bas Fort Blanc before Novick recently took over the establishment, not since 1975 as indicated on the facade.
I will no longer be returning to this restaurant, which I loved since childhood.
It's no wonder there were so many empty tables at a time when the restaurant is usually packed.
After the main course, they offer you a dessert trolley without mentioning the exorbitant price of each item. This seems like a deceptive and almost aggressive sales tactic.
30/05/2026: The setting of this restaurant is lovely. The terrace overlooks the sea. Unfortunately, neither the service nor the food lived up to expectations.
We waited 40 minutes for our starters, and while the main courses arrived quickly, we were very disappointed with what we received. There was a large quantity of tagliatelle, but it was overcooked and swimming in a flavorless, concentrated tomato and water sauce. It also included a few pieces of squid with no seasoning whatsoever.
While the mussels and fries were good, the pasta dish definitely needs improvement. As for the mackerel dish, it was well-prepared but lacked substance.
In conclusion, while some dishes were well-executed, the quality was unfortunately very inconsistent. It's a shame.

12/04/2026: We were regulars, and we went back on Friday, April 10th. There were four of us eating, and all four of us got sick. We had our doubts at first about the quality of the meat, and there was a smell of vomit in the dining room. We ate anyway, and all four of us ended up with stomach aches and diarrhea. 🤨
