Before I begin, I want to emphasize that this restaurant deserves far more than the usual 5 stars! 🌟
Everything is absolutely exceptional: the food is delicious, the setting is magnificent, the welcome is warm, and the staff is simply wonderful. You feel right at home, in a friendly atmosphere, full of joy, good humor, and generosity.
Every detail is carefully considered to ensure an unforgettable experience. You can feel the passion, the love for their craft, and the pleasure they take in making their customers happy.
It's much more than a restaurant; it's a true human and culinary experience! ❤️
I wholeheartedly recommend this place. You absolutely must experience it at least once in your life. Believe me, you won't be disappointed!

11/10/2026: Extremely disappointed. We usually eat at your restaurant in the 15th arrondissement, and it's always delicious, but this time we were very disappointed. We wanted to order and received fries that were half-thawed, pink chicken, and SURPRISE, we found a hair in the sauce! This is quite disappointing of you.
06/10/2026: The positive: Beautiful restaurant that transports you to Portugal. The girl who served us is Portuguese and very friendly and attentive. We ordered two Francesinhas and they didn't take long to make them. The menu has a lot of variety and feels very Portuguese. The fries are homemade, nothing frozen. The ingredients, such as the meat and chorizo, are tasty.
The bad and very bad: All my comments and appreciation are based exclusively on the Francesinhas of October 6, 2026, I didn't eat anything else from this restaurant. The Francesinha sauce was a real disaster. Very bitter, with a burnt taste and, frankly, it made me sick to my stomach. Each Francesinha costs €20 and the really bad taste of the sauce does not justify that price at all. We didn't want to be rude and ate the dish taking the sauce away from the rest of the ingredients, but in our experience, having eaten and grown up in Portugal, the sauce was a DISASTER. The sauce is sweet and spicy; This one tasted bitter and burnt... a shame, because we were very excited about the atmosphere, where you feel like you're in Portugal.
One piece of advice: Improve the sauce, because the sauce is the star of this dish. You have everything to have a star dish, but the sauce needs to improve 100%, it was a disaster. Maybe the rest of the food is very good, up to the standard of the service and the atmosphere. But what a disappointing Francesinha...

10/09/2026: I had already tried many custard tarts, but none like those from Pastelaria de Belém! Now I perfectly understand why they are so famous – their fame is more than deserved.
It's normal to find a queue, both to get in and sit down to eat something and even to buy something to take away, but the wait is totally worth it. Besides the famous custard tarts, they have a menu with many other options, so there's plenty to choose from.
If I had to point out something less positive, I would say the coffee could be better. Otherwise, everything is excellent: delicious food, good service, and quite reasonable prices for such a famous place.
Without a doubt, a must-stop in Belém!

04/10/2026: I bought some pasteis de nata from their stand at the sea and vineyard fair in Strasbourg. I asked the seller if they were fresh since it was morning, and he assured me they were. When I got home, I was totally disappointed; the pastry was soft and not at all crispy.

01/09/2026: I'm sharing my experience here because I think it deserves to be known, especially by parents who frequent this establishment with their young children.
On August 16, 2026, I went to the Pedra Alta restaurant in Bercy with my 19-month-old child and my sister. The meal was going normally until my son started crying because I had refused him something.
At that moment, one of the waiters took my son by the hand and left with him, without asking my permission.
I want to be clear: I never authorized this person to take my child or take him anywhere.
When I realized my son was no longer with me, I immediately went to look for him. I found him in a staff room with this waiter, who was offering him a lollipop! Imagine the panic of a mother who realizes her 19-month-old child has vanished from sight and is in a separate room with a staff member without her consent.
The next day, I found two unusual soft green particles in my son's stool. I didn't think to have them analyzed, so I can't say what they were or establish a link to what happened at the restaurant.
But as a mother, this series of events deeply worried me, and I still have questions today.
I find it completely unacceptable that a staff member would take a young child to a staff room without a parent's permission.
My message is simple: parents, stay vigilant.
I'm not sharing this to create controversy, but because parents have the right to know and be alerted when a situation like this occurs. For me, this experience was traumatic because it was the first time this had happened, and especially this kind of behavior from a server.

Beyond these deceptively simple tapas, the place is warm and welcoming. Like home, it's an institution in the 20th arrondissement where you always meet new people because the owner's spirit is just as open as all her guests.
