03/06/2026: Excellent place to dine. Make a reservation as it's a tiny spot. Order the chorizo appetizer and also the codfish cakes. The chicken is terrific. Order the Aveleda Vinho Verde which they serve chilled. Excellent all around place with terrific wait staff. We dined here twice while in Paris for 4 days because it was that good.

18/04/2026: The welcome was pleasant, although we felt like we were bothering them at noon. We ordered the cod (bacalhau à bras), which was disappointing. It wasn't cod at all, but fish fillets. The fries were very greasy, soggy, and lacked eggs. They were served with a salad that had no dressing whatsoever. The pasteis de nata were too greasy and reheated. They're certainly no longer made on-site. And at €2.60, it's not justified. I had fond memories of their products... I love cats, but this isn't very hygienic.

The place, the welcome, the presentation of the dishes—everything exudes simplicity and generosity! You feel comfortable right away; the portions are generous, the food is delicious, and the price is very reasonable.
Special mention for the daily special with three choices.
It's easy to see why it's always packed. I'll gladly go back!
24/04/2026: Excellent restaurant. Wonderful, homemade food. Good dessert. Coffee was okay. They don't accept reservations at lunchtime. The dishes arrive very quickly. At lunchtime, it gets quite crowded and a bit chaotic. Despite this, excellent price. I will definitely return!
I ordered the cod. Very generous portion, very well cooked, the skin is crispy, and the potatoes are very tasty. For dessert I ordered the pudding, sweet in just the right amount.

12/05/2026: Disappointed, the hours listed on Google are: Closing at 2 AM.
We arrived at 11:30 PM and were told they were closing. As a shopkeeper myself, I understand wanting to stay open longer if it's quiet, but closing two hours earlier is a bit much. They should consider changing the hours (I'd been planning to come for two weeks 😭).

17/03/2026: I highly recommend it!! A very good little dish served piping hot. They are very welcoming. I will be back.
25/02/2026: I discovered the place when I went to vote at the Consulate. I searched on Google and decided on "La Belote." It was full, but since it was almost closing time, there were tables available. I loved the cod, the dessert, and I'd been missing a good coffee.
The waitress is a sweetheart, always available.

21/03/2026: Betty says: no kitchen here, just tapas. But that modesty doesn't do justice to how delicious they are. Judge for yourself from the photos. They're a treat! They're generous! They're made with quality ingredients!
Beyond these deceptively simple tapas, the place is warm and welcoming. Like home, it's an institution in the 20th arrondissement where you always meet new people because the owner's spirit is just as open as all her guests.

Great location and a basement room is available.
I recommend it for a pleasant aperitif, whether you eat in or go elsewhere. 🙂↕
P.S. The pastel de nata, with or without cinnamon, are incredible, far better than those sold in other shops in Paris, by far, in my opinion and that of everyone else who has tried them.

I had two long coffees with two hot natas, yum! I had a lovely chat with one of the two ladies who was very smiley, kind, and charming; it felt like I was with a friend.

06/08/2024: Nous avons bien mangé dans ce restaurant très authentique portugais, étonnant de trouver ce genre de restaurant au plein centre touristique de Paris. Nous reviendrons pour la soirée fado!
28/07/2024: Agréable soirée dans un restaurant portugais typique entre la rue de Rivolî et Les Halles dans une rue étroite à proximité d’un centre Emmaús. Accueil convivial sympathique. Joli décor avec des azulejos muraux qui vous mettent dans l’ambiance. Impossible de prendre un apéritif correct avec des amuse gueule traditionnels. Juste des morceaux de pain rassis (huilés). Le serveur qui semble brésilien parle mal le français. Temps d’attente pour les plats extrêmement long, mais on vous prévient. Grand choix mais la morue est à l’honneur comme il se doit et les plats divers servis avec ce poisson sont énormes et démesurés et complètement recouverts de pommes de terre. Cela correspond presque à un repas de 2 jours. Inutile de prendre une entrée. De toute façon on cale. Pas spécialement goûteux. Excellent vin au verre. Jolies tables bien placées. Prix un peu élevés mais restent corrects. A faire pour tester mais sans plus.
