Anecdote sur Montreuil

One of 3 of my favourite restaurants.

A very good address among this chef's many in this city. A bistronomic restaurant in a pleasant setting. Friendly service. Very good food. I think it's good value for money. Excellent rib steak, amazing tarte tatin with delicious crème fraîche. Served for two, it delighted all six of us. Fried baby calamari as a starter with gribiche sauce. 100 euros per person for six, including starter, main course, dessert, and three bottles of wine. I recommend this restaurant in a pretty little town I discovered.

We dined at this restaurant and were disappointed by the lack of comfort: small table, uncomfortable chair. The welcome and service were pleasant. The food was decent but complicated to eat, with too many small ramekins; for example, the heart of lettuce with the dressing on the side, not easy to mix, and the rice served separately from the fish...

Everything was perfect: the welcome, the setting, the food – a truly wonderful moment to celebrate the end of summer. Thank you to the whole team. We'll definitely be back.

Good restaurant, working with fresh, high-quality products! A bit of a lack of professionalism from one person who, at first glance, we thought with experience she would have been less abrupt with us!….. Otherwise, the rest of the young team tries their best! The alcove near the kitchens is a sad and dark place; we felt punished!! Compared to the main dining room… The tarte tatin at €32 for two people is more of a dessert to share for four!!!

A lovely jazzy brasserie atmosphere, with the classics of crêpes Suzette and pepper steaks (Angus!), flambéed tableside… good bread cut with respect for its quality, a warm and caring welcome and service under the guidance of Soizic and Virginie accompanying a classic and perfectly executed cuisine… with great generosity… a pure little pleasure to share and share again!

What a wonderful discovery the Anecdote restaurant in Montreuil-sur-Mer was! The four of us dined there on Saturday, August 8th, and had an exceptional time in an atmosphere that was both elegant and welcoming. The meal was simply remarkable: high-quality ingredients, refined cuisine, and memorable flavors that demonstrate true expertise. We were particularly impressed by the service, provided by a 19-year-old who had just joined the establishment for a short period before enlisting in the army. Although the restaurant industry isn't his primary profession, he displayed a kindness, attentiveness, and professionalism worthy of the finest establishments. His energy and sincerity added a precious human touch to our experience. Some background music would have been appreciated to complete the ambiance, but this is a minor detail given how perfect everything else was. We wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant, where culinary excellence and genuine hospitality meet with rare elegance.

The terrace and service were perfect. I was very disappointed by the dishes: fried calamari and monkfish. Nothing exceptional. A glass of wine isn't on the menu but is available. Don't forget to ask about the price.

We had dinner here with high expectations, but unfortunately the experience didn’t quite match the price. We had booked in English over the phone and, although someone seemed able to communicate, once we arrived we were served by a waitress who didn’t speak any English at all. This made even the simplest requests unnecessarily difficult. We were initially shown to a very dark table near the kitchen, despite there being several nicer tables available in the main dining room. We also had to repeat several times that we were a party of three before this was understood. The wine service was disappointing: the bottle was opened behind the waiter’s back without showing it to us, and wine was spilled outside the glass without even a brief apology. Service was also quite slow, especially before our order was taken. The food itself was good, but not particularly memorable considering the price. For around €210 for three people (four meat dishes, two cheese plates and one bottle of wine), we expected a more polished overall experience. A pleasant setting, but the service and value for money left us disappointed.

It was good, but a shame; it left us wanting more. The place is pleasant. The service is present but lacks attentiveness. We weren't offered a cocktail upon arrival; they didn't even seem to be on the menu. We weren't offered more bread. The desserts, including the one on the set menu, were very basic. The tarragon sauce, which was supposed to enhance the roasted apricot, was practically insignificant.
