Good food. Good ingredients, but slow service, even though it wasn't very busy. I had to ask for the receipt; the manager told me the price without giving me the bill.

The Auberge du Pré Vieux boasts a typically Savoyard setting that immediately makes an impression. Nestled in a peaceful, easily accessible location, with a lovely terrace and pleasant mountain views, the establishment invites relaxation. The welcome is initially friendly, and the staff remains available throughout the meal. The service is generally efficient and pleasant, although it becomes somewhat impersonal and strained when a complaint is maderized wine. One senses, however, that the team is accustomed to managing a large number of covers, sometimes at the expense of more personalized attention. The menu features classic Savoyard dishes. The portions are generous and the food comforting, but the quality is rather inconsistent. The starter, a perfect egg surrounded by creamed corn and popcorn, is only enticing in name. An unexpected offering given the setting, technically accomplished, but the excessive sweetness from the corn made it feel more like a dessert than a starter. The fondue we ordered was generously portioned, beautiful, and creamy, but the cheese was completely lacking in flavor and character, while others lacked character or seasoning. The prices are consistent with those in a tourist resort like Le Grand-Bornand, but the value for money leaves a slight impression of incompleteness, of potential for improvement. Ultimately, the Auberge du Pré Vieux remains a pleasant place to enjoy an authentic mountain setting, and, not wanting to end on a mixed note, we will return to try the meat dishes, which sound promising.

A wonderful experience at this restaurant where the dishes are as beautiful as they are delicious, and the staff are incredibly welcoming with a genuine sense of service. Extremely kid-friendly (which is rare, so worth mentioning), we had a marvelous evening with our son. Thank you!

Excellent cuisine, creative, beautiful to look at 🤩 and delicious to eat 😋. A short menu, a testament to the quality of the ingredients and the chef's skill. Vegetarian dishes... perfectly balanced, spiced, and bursting with flavor 🙏. We loved it. As for the service, the two owners are fantastic. Professional yet relaxed. A must-try.

Excellent meal from start to finish, absolutely nothing to complain about. For starters, the perfect egg: perfectly cooked, with a smooth, creamy sauce, a beautiful and delicate amuse-bouche. Then, I had the beef fillet—and a tip for those with a sweet tooth: order the morel sauce supplement, it's really worth it, it makes all the difference. Tender meat, perfectly cooked, with carefully prepared side dishes. My wife had the chicken supreme, which was equally delicious, meltingly tender, and beautifully presented. We both finished with a peach and vanilla cheesecake, light and perfectly indulgent, followed by a small digestif (genepi and pear) to end the meal in style. The setting is superb: a beautiful dining room with aged wood, warm and authentic, and a terrace with a magnificent view of the mountains. You can really take your time to savor the experience. And the service is top-notch: a very pleasant and smiling waiter who offered helpful advice on the menu. In short, a place we recommend without hesitation. Beautifully presented dishes, quality ingredients, and a superb setting. We'll definitely be back!
