BACK IN BLACK by KB Coffee Roasters sur Paris

I opted for an iced latte and a cold brew, boasting what I suspect are wonderfully aromatic Ethiopian blend beans (though this is just a guess, not guaranteed). The savory scone paired with mushroom sauce and sautéed mushrooms was excellent! It would have been perfect if it were a little less oily. The Vbanana bread, described on the menu as a private recipe, didn’t taste much different to me, but was still delightfully sweet. I also ordered a carrot cake, which I forgot to photograph. Personally, I love this kind of not-too-sweet cake with cinnamon; it was moist and delicious. The topping, if I recall correctly, was nuts and a yogurt sauce, but it was likable enough for a second try! The ambiance was incredibly chill, especially on a weekday, enhancing the experience twofold! I absolutely loved the large skylight; the brightness boosts one’s mood, and the coffee bar under the daylight exuded a leisurely vibe.

We maybe got them on a bad day but went in with my son (13) who just wanted crepe or pancake (which were on the menu as a larger dish) absolutely no flexibility on the menu options when I asked which would have meant a 15 Euro platter which included pancakes with eggs . I ate scambled eggs and had a coffee - quite expensive and ok but we had a lot better for less elsewhere. Maybe better for couples or those looking for trendy Paris but just average for me.

The coffee was very good. The atmosphere is very good. I think it's one of the best cafes in Paris.

A great place for fans of the special coffee genre, a professional place that serves great coffee in addition to breakfast throughout the day, but we didn't try it this time. It also seems worth it.

Excellent coffee and service. Good food. Be sure to ask for it warmed up which makes them even better. Very local feel.

Great coffee, where the beans are roasted on site too! I had the hanky panky pancake which was a delicious mix of sweet and savory. Highly recommend this place for breakfast if you’re staying in the area.

Really nice coffee and environment. ———— New comment 6 Feb 2024 I always like their savory or sweet food and their amazing coffee. But this time the service was really bad. It took us quite long time to catch the attention of the girl with iPad to order, while she gave us a very snobby attitude. And when we needed something more, we waved our hands to another waitress walking towards us and she just completely ignored us….I mean, ok, maybe your job is not ordering, maybe your job is checkout, but at least tell your customer that you’re not the one taking the order and your colleague will come to help. She just looked into our eyes and walked away. We took around 20 minutes to order and waited 40 minutes for a savory scone, it was just way too slow! We wanted to order a flat white to end our meal, and we were informed that their machine was having technical issues. When I saw they are delivery coffee takeaways, the waiter told me that machine needed more time to warm up…fine. Overall, very good food and drinks, very arrogant attitude, especially girls. Improve the way you handle your customers, people will feel more welcomed there.
