We were left wanting more, both literally and figuratively, after our four-course lunch at Bloempot. Knowing Chef Ladeyn's reputation, we came with high expectations, but unfortunately, disappointment prevailed.
The portions are truly tiny, even for a fine-dining restaurant. Perhaps we were simply unlucky with this month's menu. The first starter was interesting, as was the second. However, the main course was a letdown: a very small piece of pork loin, with more fat than meat, and a very limited portion of red cabbage (two leaves at most). The dessert didn't particularly impress us either.
The service was friendly, but lacked professionalism considering the prices. We regret that, in some new-generation French restaurants, service sometimes seems to be undervalued in favor of a "rustic" or "casual" style. For example, there weren't enough plates to properly enjoy the first starter.
At this price point, we expected a more attentive service, including in the presentation and attire of the staff.

A superb experience.
The place is cozy, charming, and ideal for a romantic dinner.
The service is impeccable, and the dishes and drinks are beautifully presented by the staff, who clearly know their dishes and flavor pairings.
The entire menu is harmonious, generous, and above all, absolutely delicious.
I can't wait to go back and try another menu!

The menu will surprise you. You don't know what's on offer beforehand, but you can indicate any allergies or food preferences. Both the non-alcoholic and alcoholic (wine and beer) pairings are carefully selected and perfectly complement each other. The service is pleasant and friendly. Highly recommended and definitely worth the price!

Wonderful discoveries made for a very enjoyable evening.
Both the chefs and the service staff were outstanding.
Discovering unexpected dishes like the mushroom dessert was delightful.
Simple ingredients were reimagined with expertise and a harmonious blend of flavors, making even foods we wouldn't normally eat, due to taste preferences, truly delicious.

A very pleasant restaurant! The servers were very kind and professional, no complaints whatsoever.
We came in the evening and the atmosphere and decor were magnificent.
The only slight drawback was the very slow service between courses... You need to be patient...
Otherwise, it was a wonderful experience.

This was a last minute pick restaurant on our day trip to Lille. This is a cozy, bright restaurant and feels sort of refreshing. The tasting menu was fantastic and we pretty much enjoyed every bite. My only complaint if I were to have one is that it was a very very long lunch. I think we were there for over 3 hours. The food was amazing though, and I would definitely go back.

For our two-year anniversary, I surprised my partner with a reservation at Bloempot on December 18th.
It was a set eight-course meal, and I enjoyed seven out of eight dishes, while my wife loved all eight (sorry, but like Chef Darroze, celery is a no-go, especially with squid ink on top of that 😬).
The team was fantastic and incredibly attentive. A special mention to Yvan, with whom we had a great laugh!
➡️ It's amazing, but the amuse-bouche was a real Proustian madeleine for me, a Breton... Between the sausage galette with mustard syrup, the mint oil, and the broth with its Kouign-Amann aroma, I felt like I was literally back home in Erquy, the town of scallops.
Keep up the good work, Chef Florence and the whole team! We'll be back with pleasure when our savings allow 😉
