Cafe de la Fontaine sur La Turbie

I’ve been here several times over the years. This time the food just seemed a little bit more simplified than the past. It was still good. Good quality. And very reasonably priced. The service was very good and the atmosphere very pleasant. I’m sure I’ll be back. Somehow I just expected a tiny bit more from this particular chef.

A very good restaurant that we have been visiting regularly for many years. However, the price-performance ratio has become worse over the years.

It was the hotel where we were staying in Eze that made the reservation, recommending the cuisine of this restaurant. First of all, we struggled to find parking for our vehicle on a Saturday evening and had to resort to going to the paid parking lot where there were 2 free spaces. We therefore arrived 5 minutes late than the agreed time. By offering our apologies. The welcome seemed cold to us and the rest of the service was expeditious. The place is noisy, the tables arranged to accommodate as many place settings as possible are too close to each other. If we cannot hear what the person we are dining with says, we can hear the neighbors' conversations. We respectively took the ravioli dish and the salmon dish accompanied by some vegetables. Nothing extraordinary in terms of flavors, therefore expensive. A positive point: the possibility of having wine by the glass. The Pouilly fumé one is good. The bill was brought to us spontaneously as soon as we had our last spoonful of dessert by a waiter who already had the bank card reader in hand. How better to tell us to clear the place as quickly as possible?! We are usually easy to please customers, but here we could not ignore our disappointment. We will not come back.

Très bon restaurant à la Turbie ! les plats sont traditionnels et il y a du très bon vin. Une très bonne adresse en dehors de Monaco, à des prix très abordables! Les quantités sont correctes, très bon rapport qualité /prix. Je recommande ce restaurant pour passer un bon moment entre amis.

Food is absolutely fabulous. Service with a smile and lots of little extras. Friendly atmosphere in French bistro ambience. Very acceptable prices. My son Richard took me there and I was delighted with his choice. I highly recommend it and look forward to returning when I revisit the Maybourne Riviera.
