Nice, but you can only pay for purchases under €10 in cash; credit cards are not accepted. The ATM is right next door. This solution bothers me a bit! Goodbye to a simple coffee on the terrace 😏😏

The welcome is warm. Regarding the food, the bread should be cut just before serving; eating the lunchtime bread is unthinkable. Similarly, the cheese course, with its crust cut several days ago and left in the fridge, is clearly past its prime. The ice cream is very cheap... It's a shame.

I am always welcome here. If there is no room, they will make room for me. A lovely French eatery/restaurant with a bar, tables, and a television. The staff is warm; I am always greeted kindly. Every now and then, there are special evenings with unlimited couscous, unlimited mussels, or whatever else the season offers. Always make a reservation for those kinds of evenings, as they attract a lot of locals. They also serve a great lunch at midday with daily menus at competitive prices. A nice terrace, especially in good weather. A delightful, village-like, and French experience.

A great little place for the town of Château-Chinon. We had the Plat du jour, which was simple but quite tasty, especially for the price. The furniture needs replacing, though—damaged chairs, etc. But otherwise, it's fine!

Le Lion d'Or

26/05/2026: A passionate traveler, it was by chance that I stumbled upon the Lion d'Or. And of course, this place left its mark. Normally, I don't bother reviewing the places I stay because everything is so sterile, so similar, and original, unconventional places have little or no reason to exist... But seeing the reviews and ratings piqued my curiosity and led me to dig deeper and understand. The owner is one of those people who are bursting with energy, talkative, intelligent, with a strong and memorable personality. Ultimately, I'd say divisive. But what an evening spent dining with other travelers and the owner! A feast, hastily prepared by our ever-attentive host, peppered with shared experiences and humor. These kinds of moments are part of travel, and they leave such a lasting impression. So yes, it's far from the norm. But if everything becomes standardized, what place is left for such unique individuals? See you soon, my friend. PS: Practice your chess! ;)

01/05/2026: Beautifully restored, very friendly staff - beautiful view in the restaurant, nice outdoor terrace.
22/04/2026: A well-located hotel in the heart of Morvan's capital. Friendly staff. The restaurant is of good quality – local cuisine, carefully prepared dishes made with fresh ingredients. Breakfast is adequate (buffet style), but we found it a bit pricey (15 euros).
