We only visited the free area because the price was €19. I think it's very expensive compared to other major monuments in Spain. What we saw caught our attention: the castle with battlements, busy streets with tourists, and a lively atmosphere. You can easily visit it in a day, eating inside and taking home a souvenir.

Spectacular!!! This walled city is a marvel, it was worth the trip.

I had the pleasure of visiting the **Cité de Carcassonne** twice—once in May and again in June, both on weekends—and each visit was absolutely memorable. This medieval fortress is incredibly well-preserved and truly transports you back in time with its majestic ramparts, narrow cobbled streets, and stunning towers. In May, the weather was perfect for exploring every corner of the cité, from the château to the panoramic views over the Aude River. In June, the liveliness and vibrant energy of the crowds gave it a festive air, without taking away from its historical charm. Whether you're a history enthusiast, a photographer, or just someone looking to experience something unique, the Cité de Carcassonne is a must-visit. I’m already looking forward to going back again!
