Caveau des Arches sur Beaune

The restaurant is truly beautiful, elegant, and meticulously crafted. We were also pleased with the food: well-executed, high-quality dishes. Unfortunately, the service didn't live up to the setting. The glasses of wine we ordered at the beginning arrived only after the appetizer, making us miss out on the pleasure of pairing it with our chosen wine. Furthermore, there was some confusion with one of the main courses: we were informed that the salmon trout wasn't available and would be replaced with sea bass with vegetables, but in the end, a salmon trout arrived anyway. Unexpected events can happen, but we would have appreciated clearer and more transparent communication from the staff. Finally, when we ordered an additional glass of wine, it arrived already poured. I personally believe that, especially in a restaurant of this caliber, it's good practice to show the bottle at the table before service, so that the customer can check the label on the wine ordered. Overall, a good experience in terms of ambiance and cuisine, but some aspects of the service could be improved.

Absolutely top-notch... we truly enjoyed ourselves... a superb culinary experience... Everything was perfect... the parsley sauce was a delight for the taste buds... the snails too... the morel mushroom tarts were excellent... the beef bourguignon was superbly slow-cooked... The service was impeccable, everyone very professional... and the setting was very pleasant... thank you for this wonderful experience...

Very enjoyable evening, waiters could all speak english, a large wein card to be expected in this region with impressive prices but found a good wein for a good price. Food was excellent and portions were appropriate.

There were 18 of us for my husband's birthday (10 adults and 8 children). It was wonderful. The food was delicious and the presentation refined, the waiters were charming and offered excellent advice (on wines and champagne). The setting was magical. And the birthday cake was sublime! Don't miss this restaurant; it would be a shame. The value for money was exceptional. Thank you again to the whole team.

A delightful surprise beneath the vaulted ceilings of Beaune Le Caveau des Arches was our first restaurant of our stay in Beaune. And to be honest, upon arriving at the establishment, we weren't entirely convinced. The entrance is rather discreet, almost a bit cold, and decidedly less spectacular than some of the more "folksy" restaurants in the Burgundy countryside. But once inside, the charm quickly takes hold. The magnificent vaulted cellars immediately lend a real atmosphere to the place: authentic, warm, and typically Beaunois without being over the top. It's a very pleasant place to be. The welcome and service also deserve to be highlighted: smiling, pleasant, and attentive staff, with that perfect balance between professionalism and simplicity. A real difference compared to some establishments where you sometimes feel like you're bothering them. As for the food, it was also a very pleasant surprise. The snails were excellent, well-prepared, and a generous portion. The chicken with Époisses cheese was particularly successful: rich, flavorful, and not overly heavy. And the homemade parsley sauce was also very good, accompanied by a glass of Burgundy that did the job perfectly. The wine list is obviously a real highlight, with excellent selections and unpretentious recommendations. It's certainly not a Michelin-starred restaurant or a revolutionary experience, but that's not what you come here for. Le Caveau des Arches simply offers what you expect from a good Beaune establishment: a beautiful setting, well-executed regional cuisine, good wine, and a pleasant atmosphere. In short, a reliable and welcoming restaurant where we had a very enjoyable start to our stay in Beaune.
