Chez Jane - Restaurant le Theatre sur Vesoul

We booked this restaurant for a birthday meal with a pre-selected menu. The reservation process went very smoothly, with truly pleasant and efficient service. On the day itself, the service was a little slow, and the waitstaff weren't yet fully familiar with the menu. But this is a minor detail—everyone has to learn, and it didn't spoil our experience. The meal, however, was excellent from start to finish: a very successful starter, a delicious main course, and a particularly enjoyable dessert, with a small birthday treat that's always appreciated. A restaurant that takes great care of its guests, which we wholeheartedly recommend!

For a first visit, we were not disappointed! Warm welcome, very fast service, pleasant staff and exquisite Easter menu! I highly recommend it.

The food was simply excellent at a reasonable price, and the service was impeccable thanks to the warm smiles. Despite everything, I had a slight reservation about the decor, which I found somewhat haphazard. But I understand that it might appeal to some.

We visited Jane's in the summer of 2024 and were delighted to return now that the renovations are complete: everything is renovated and refreshed, and it's quite a success. The rest hasn't changed: the cuisine remains of high quality, offering classic French dishes that are sadly becoming rare. The cooking and sauces are perfect, using very fresh, high-quality ingredients. The portions are generous, and everything is made to order, which explains the slight wait—a good sign. The team works in the traditional style in an open kitchen that you can feel the energy of the staff, with their calls of "Yes, Chef!"—a real pleasure. The desserts are to die for. Only the jelly in the amuse-bouches was a bit too salty, and the waitresses' attire could be more elegant and uniform. Bravo and thank you to the whole team; one of the best restaurants in Vesoul.

The welcome and service were warm. The food was quite good. What's a shame is the cheap table setting—a sort of linoleum stapled to the table with a paper placemat under the plate and cutlery. Given the menu prices, proper tablecloths should be on the tables. Also, it was the first time in a restaurant that we had to keep our cutlery from the appetizer to the main course. It's a good thing to be environmentally conscious and use less water, but this approach requires asking and explaining. We were also disappointed that we ordered one dessert and were served a different one instead. A waitress was supposed to come back to us, but she never did, and she didn't seem bothered by the preparation and serving of the other dessert.

We were seated fairly quickly and ordered, but it seemed to take quite a while. Then, just as we were starting to get impatient, we were brought a welcome appetizer (it looked like a broth). Another interminable wait, which didn't please all our guests. The first course was served, followed by another wait, and the courses arrived intermittently. And to top it all off, the first person served finished their meal before the last guest had even been served! 😩😩 So that's where things got tricky. 😩 Of course, the food was beautifully presented and delicious. A pleasant discovery on a Sunday when so many others are closed!

An excellent restaurant in Vesoul! Chez Jane is a real gem. The welcome is warm, the service attentive and always with a smile. The dishes are delicious, homemade, generous, and prepared with quality ingredients. You can taste the passion in every plate! The atmosphere is friendly and pleasant, ideal for lunch with friends or a family dinner. Special mention goes to the presentation of the dishes and the excellent value for money. I highly recommend it: a sure bet in Vesoul, I'll definitely be back!
