We visited the L'abreuvoir restaurant on October 6th. It's an exceptional place: the welcome, the quality of the prepared products, the cleanliness, really nothing to complain about. So, being in St. Alvere all week, we were able to try almost every dish on the menu (evenings). Congratulations to the whole team, you'll be seeing us again. Thanks to Tonton for his tips for visiting the Périgord region. (The south 🙂) A restaurant we recommend 200% (for those who love authentic French cuisine using local produce).

As mentioned elsewhere, note that this restaurant is no longer a crêperie, which we hadn't noticed before entering. However, we had a very good family lunch there. Very pleasant service, by a young and dynamic team, dishes cooked from fresh and quality products, as beautiful as they are delicious. A very good address that we will remember for a future visit to Le Bugue

A great meal for 3 as a family!! A friendly and welcoming waiter! A smiling and pleasant waitress. The meal, made with fresh and well-cooked produce, was a real treat!!! We felt a real chef at the stove who loves his job, just like the service team. A tip reserved for eating on the quiet terrace right next to the restaurant.

20/01/2026: On Monday and Tuesday all restaurants in le Bugue close, but this little one, just next to the fire station stays open and even though we were the only people in there, the service and the food were awesome, great steak, home cooked chips, simple but lovely. Def recommended any night but we'll done for staying open when the rest of town is closed it saved our night.
13/01/2026: A good option for eating in this little town. I was looking for confit, and although it wasn't cheap, it was tasty. The other dish had some better-than-others, but overall it was a bit small. You walk past the bar to the terrace overlooking the river. It has a nice atmosphere, but I imagine there will be mosquitoes at dinnertime since it's right by the water. Everything was fine.

14/11/2025: Excellent restaurant with very friendly staff, good food, and a superb terrace.
30/10/2025: Excellent restaurant! We came as a family of 10. The welcome was warm, the waitress very pleasant and patient in taking our order, even though we were a large group of four Irish people who spoke little of our language. Everything was delicious and homemade, and the service was quick. Despite the restaurant being busy and our late arrival, everything on the menu was available. We will definitely return and highly recommend this establishment. Thank you to the whole team!
