A lovely two-day romantic weekend at the Hôtel des 2 Cols. The evening meal was very good, with an excellent flank steak and a delicious leek and goat cheese tart. The service was quick, efficient, and very attentive, as was the welcome from the management. A very pleasant little family-run hotel; I highly recommend it. Thank you to the whole team for this simple and enjoyable stay... well done!

We opted for the €27.50 set menu: starter, main course, and dessert, with an additional charge for desserts from the menu if you wanted something other than ice cream, homemade creams, or cheese. Our starter was a melting salad of gizzards, bacon, and a soft-boiled egg. It was served with a generous amount of salad, two or three small pieces of gizzard, and very little bacon. We then chose the grilled lamb with its side dish, which was served with two tablespoons of lentils (homemade???). My husband ordered the same thing, but with very thin, overcooked fries. I had to send my meat back to the kitchen because it was barely lukewarm, and the same was true for my husband. I feel that for a €27.50 set menu, we expected something more than a bistro-style menu, which would be more in line with their €18.50 set menu. It's a shame, as it was recommended to us, and we won't be returning.

We ate here as a family. I recommend the Col d'Aspin menu, but less so the Sainte Marie. Expect impeccable, warm service.
