Where to begin? 😁 After repeating the experience countless times... I can only offer you this review based on my own experience. THIS RESTAURANT IS EXCELLENT! I am always pleasantly surprised by the quality of the ingredients and the flavors of the dishes. The waitresses here are particularly warm and contribute to the friendly atmosphere. This is THE restaurant to try near the castle.

Great restaurant in Pau, discovered while strolling around. Simple menu, fresh ingredients, and delicious dishes (Pyrenees trout with butter and lemon 😋). Impeccable service! Pleasant tables on a small street. We highly recommend it; excellent value for money!

A lovely little restaurant in the heart of Pau's historic center. The owners are welcoming and the service is quick. Set menus range from €17 to €30. Everyone loved it! Special mention goes to the roasted Camembert with sausages (delicious, except maybe for those on a diet 😁).

Excellent place! Warm welcome and smiles throughout the service, despite the crowds and the fast pace. The dishes were delicious; kudos to the chef who works alone in the kitchen!

18/08/2026: A truly excellent restaurant to discover in Pau. The meal is refined, generous, and expertly prepared, with ingredients that truly reflect the care and attention to detail of the cuisine. The welcome is warm and pleasant, with a genuine connection to the customers, making the experience even more enjoyable. While the prices are in the fine dining range, the value for money is excellent considering the quality of the dishes, the service, and the overall experience. A small, intimate dining room, quality cuisine, and a welcoming team: Le Canard Royal clearly deserves its excellent reputation. A place I highly recommend and where I will gladly return.
