We came as a family on the recommendation of our host. We were absolutely delighted by the welcome and the food. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed her duck steak burger, and my wife also loved her half duck breast au gratin with Ossau-Iraty cheese. As for me, I savored my duck casserole, in which I had the pleasure of enjoying a cooked foie gras slab, duck breast strips, hearts, and duck breast. It was divine! We were also very well received and served. I highly recommend this restaurant. We will definitely be back as soon as we return to Pau.

A truly excellent restaurant to discover in Pau. The meal is refined, generous, and expertly prepared, with ingredients that truly reflect the care and attention to detail of the cuisine. The welcome is warm and pleasant, with a genuine connection to the customers, making the experience even more enjoyable. While the prices are in the fine dining range, the value for money is excellent considering the quality of the dishes, the service, and the overall experience. A small, intimate dining room, quality cuisine, and a welcoming team: Le Canard Royal clearly deserves its excellent reputation. A place I highly recommend and where I will gladly return.

Absolutely fantastic! The meal was delicious, the portions generous, we were craving duck and we weren't disappointed! The food was high quality and the meat was incredibly tender. Furthermore, the service was excellent: fast, efficient, attentive, and very welcoming! I highly recommend it!

I absolutely love this place, highly recommend! I love duck and this place has the best duck I have ever tasted. Perfect French cooking, lovely atmosphere and good service, the server spoke English and explained the menue to me. They also have delicious steak. The potatoes and sauce were heavenly. Thank you

02/09/2026: We chose this restaurant completely at random because we were just passing by and we were very hungry, and the cozy atmosphere really caught our attention. To be honest, we didn’t regret it at all! The food was absolutely amazing and delicious, including the desserts, and the service was excellent too. We 100% recommend it and will definitely come back the next time we’re in Pau!

From the moment we arrived, we received a very warm welcome and were taken care of by a lovely, smiling, and attentive team. As for the food, we were simply delighted! Delicious, beautifully presented, and generous portions, all served in a pleasant and friendly atmosphere. You can really feel their desire to please and offer a wonderful experience to their customers. A place where you come to eat well, but above all, where you leave with a smile. 😊 Thank you to the whole team for this fantastic time! We will definitely be back and we 100% recommend Henri IV to anyone who wants to have a great time in Pau. 👏🍽️❤️
