We visited La Boete in Saint-Jean-de-Luz and loved the experience. It's a nautical bistro right in the city center, with a very special atmosphere where the Atlantic is present in everything, even the details of the place.
We tried several dishes to share, and they were all excellent: haddock tartare, house-made foie gras, tuna ham with hummus, herring tartare with beetroot and capers, and a truly delicious fish and chips with homemade tartar sauce.
For dessert, we ordered their crème brûlée "their way," with pineapple at the base. It's a different take on the classic, interesting and well-executed.
If you're in Saint-Jean-de-Luz and enjoy good food, this is a highly recommended stop. Good ingredients, excellent preparation, and a lovely atmosphere.

Simply the best restaurant, a very well-crafted seasonal menu with carefully considered flavor combinations, discoveries, ultra-reasonable prices, a small, intimate room where you feel comfortable, a chef available to explain his dishes and give advice on food and wine pairings, a set menu of dishes to share… in short, it's perfect, go without hesitation!

This restaurant is a sure bet. It offers seafood dishes cooked to order. We had the redfish with vegetables and beef broth, and a seafood platter. For dessert, we enjoyed a fromage blanc emulsion and passion fruit sorbet. The food was efficient and the service friendly and excellent.

A wonderful time spent in this restaurant with its incredible, authentic, and friendly welcome. The food is excellent, the menu is simple and effective, the ingredients are fresh, and the fish is cooked to perfection.
