La Bouteillerie sur Lyon

It really is a place where you feel good, where you like to come back. For me, it is without a doubt the best wine bar in Lyon, and I recommend it with my eyes closed to anyone who loves wine, or who simply wants to have a great time.

Excellent wines and small dishes prepared by Christophe

The best wine bar in Lyon with the best owner/sommelier Christophe. The place is small with a few tables both inside and outside, so make sure you reserve ahead of time. From start to finish, Christophe had shown us the best hospitality. We let him bring us the wine that he thinks we will like, which he did an incredible job on (we had 5 different wines). He also served couple small dishes to go with the wines, which he made himself. We ordered a charcuterie and cheese plate, a slice of tartine with lardon, and chocolate brownies for dessert, and they are all delicious. Just be patient while enjoying yourself here, as this is a one-man show and Christophe wants to show everyone his love and passion for wine, so service might be a little bit slow. But who is in a hurry when you have good food and great wine in front of you? If you visit Lyon, please visit this wonderful wine bar, as you will not disappoint!

Christophe was very knowledgeable about local wines and dishes. He was very friendly and we had a few laughes together. The food was delicious and the wines he recommended were all very special and enjoyable.

I reserved a table for six people in order to have a good evening for friends coming from Nancy, and it was a success! Christophe introduced us to wines blindly, but also pushed us to think about what we were tasting. Christophe is ultra competent and that's a pleasure, especially since he had to deal with some really bad guys... We will come back without hesitation!! Bonus point for the super Burgundy at the end!

We had a fun and memorable evening. The host was just wonderful - very friendly and gave us some sightseeing tips. He paid attention to the kind of wines we liked and paired for us to our meals. We had Bouef Tartare and the Tarte Lyonaisse. Both were excellent. Tarte came with an enormous green salad and the Tartare with a bowl of noodles with a delicious mustard crème sauce. We had plenty of food with these two plates. Highly recommend La Bouteillerie!

We had a great time at La Bouteillerie. We came in early for a quick glass of wine and even though the place was fully booked, Christoph made room for us. In the end, we stayed until closing time. Christoph led us through excellent wines (mostly) from near Lyon based on what flavors we liked and sat down with us to explain where the wines were coming from and how this and the grapes influenced the flavor. The food was also really nice and accompanied the wines well. Christoph even gave us several recommendations for restaurants and bars in our further holiday destinations. If I could give more than five stars I would've done so. Thanks again, Christoph!

The invitation to this wine bar was a surprise... what a surprise!!! We blind tasted priceless bottles carefully selected by the wine merchant who is exceptional. I don't want to spoil it, you have to get there. Here the word authenticity takes on its full meaning. There are few tables, which gives a certain proximity to it. We left after midnight without feeling pushed out. We had an excellent evening. It's worth the detour!!
