15/10/2026: A very pleasant surprise!!!!! We had an unforgettable dinner at L’Étage! First of all, the restaurant is located on the second floor of a building facing the square, which makes the view beautiful!!!!! There are very few tables, so you absolutely need to make a reservation, and if you cancel you have to pay a fee, which is extremely fair considering there are only 6 tables in the whole restaurant! It's a super intimate atmosphere, and the chef himself serves you and tells you the story of the restaurant, of Lyon, and other things! An unforgettable experience! We ordered the lobster menu and everything was delicious!!!!!! Don't miss it! It's really worth it!!!!

12/10/2026: What a wonderful discovery! We stumbled upon this little side street by chance and found ourselves right in front of the small bouchon (a typical lunch spot). It felt incredibly authentic, and we received a very warm welcome amidst the locals. Since we initially sat down on our own, there was a brief moment of awkwardness, but it quickly dissipated. It's customary to wait, especially for newcomers. After the first few sips of the house wine, however, the atmosphere relaxed, and we no longer felt like strangers. We laughed with our tablemates and thoroughly enjoyed the fantastic meal. It was a wonderful experience off the beaten tourist track in Lyon. We are very grateful and would like to sincerely thank the hostess for her understanding and patience with us newcomers. We also thank the other guests for their kindness. We are deeply impressed.

11/10/2026: We had a wonderful time at this restaurant! The setting is lovely and the staff is incredibly welcoming. We enjoyed everything we ordered! The quality and taste were excellent. Our only slight complaint, which doesn't detract from our overall great experience, was that the Basque influence wasn't more prominent in our drinks and food! We would have loved to have some Txakoli, Sagarno, or Irouleguy (both white and red, they have some excellent ones), or even a little Patxaran or Menta as a digestif. We also would have appreciated some Basque pâté, charcuterie made with Kintoa pork, or a bit more seafood (baby squid (or at least some calamari), bonito, etc.)… and why not… all served with some Basque music…

You often see tables of office workers there, and it's true that it's good, it's efficient, and if you want to be sure your meal goes well and pleases everyone, it's a place to consider. For a gourmet, it lacks adventure, boldness, and precision, but for someone looking for a place to chat over a pleasant meal, without expecting anything more, and where everyone feels comfortable, it's perfect. The seating is comfortable, there's a good selection, the prices are reasonable, the decor is understated and tasteful, there's a list of affordable local wines, and the service is pleasant and efficient. It should be noted that there's no terrace and that the entrance has a step, which makes it difficult for people with reduced mobility to access. Otherwise, everything is fine, even for vegetarians, who are catered for with a few dishes.
