La Guinguette de la Capitainerie à Meung-sur-Loire est un véritable petit bijou niché au bord de la Loire, offrant une vue imprenable sur le fleuve. Cet endroit est un havre de paix, idéal pour les cyclistes qui parcourent le célèbre itinéraire de la Loire à Vélo, car il est directement accessible depuis le parcours. Sur le plan des prestations, la simplicité est de mise. Les boissons proposées sont locales, ce qui ajoute une touche authentique à l'expérience. Quant aux planches, elles restent dans la norme, correctes mais sans grande originalité. Cependant, l'accueil pourrait être amélioré. Si le patron est agréable et accueillant, l'attitude de la patronne laisse malheureusement à désirer, ce qui peut gâcher un peu l'expérience globale. Je vous partage également une petite photo prise en contrebas, non loin de la guinguette. Les bateaux que vous y voyez appartiennent à l'établissement, ajoutant encore un charme supplémentaire à cet endroit déjà magnifique. Malgré quelques bémols, la beauté du lieu et la tranquillité des lieux en font une étape appréciable pour les amoureux de la Loire.

My Wife and I only had one night in town and we were lucky enough to go to La Capitainerie. The owners who operate this restaurant are wonderful people and excel at what they do. A beautiful husband and wife, he is the chef and I mean a proper chef, she runs the service and is as lovely as possible. Great wine selection and the food is extraordinary, but it is the character and spirit of the owners that makes it so much more special. Thank you Denny and Claire for an amazing evening. Merci beaucoup!

12/05/2024: Nice terrace on the banks of the Loire, very good menu. I recommend if you are passing through Meung sur Loire
03/03/2024: I wanted to give this place 5 stars, but there were a couple of big items that let it down. Firstly the good points: The hotel is an old beautiful building, as such the rooms are interesting and it is a joy to stay in. The checkin was very clever as we were given a code which we entered into a machine and it spat out our key, but this did mean we didn’t get to meet anyone, which was a little disconcerting. Now the things we didn’t like: The breakfast was lacking, the pastries were dry and there wasn’t an awful lot of choice, considering we had been to many other hotels for less and they had provided more I thought this was a bit of a shame. Also workers who were working on our floor started work at around 8am for a hotel I think this is a big no no, as guests like to relax and get up in their own time and work shouldn’t start until at least 9 or 10. I left both of these points in the suggestion box so they could hopefully action them. Other than this the location is pretty cool, and the place is steeped in history.

09/09/2024: Friendly service. There were 4 of us. For pork to share, 4 cocktails (without and with), and coffees we paid almost 50 euros... everyone takes the increase head on. We won't be able to come anymore. Luckily we shared. 😌 The fish and chips are good. Creme brulee is my favorite dessert and having to go private because there is alcohol is disappointing. It was better before.
23/08/2024: Awesome restaurant! Served on time, I eat there very regularly, a must-see place in this pretty city.
