"La Collégiale" Bar & Brasserie sur Briancon

A great place to eat in Briançon after a walk (they were welcomed after 2 pm!), with a friendly atmosphere and delicious food. Excellent value for money in the heart of the Gargoyle district. We'll remember it! 😀

This bar mainly functions as a restaurant. The location is pleasant, right in front of the old town church, whose name is La Collégiale, hence thé restaurant name. It was a bit windy that evening, with a few annoying gusts, but overall it was quite pleasant, and a bit of cool air was even welcome. We tried two typical dishes: a tartiflette and a gratin dish of crozets (buckwheat pasta squares), both with lots of local cheese. My dish also had bacon, and the crozets had onion, but ultimately they were very similar in flavor. Overall, though, even though I love cheese, I found both to be almost cloying, and even a bit heavy. Quick and kind service.

A must-see spot in old Briançon where you can eat, drink, and enjoy the evening entertainment with an open stage.

The setting of this establishment is really pleasant, and I highly recommend it for a drink. The atmosphere on the terrace is very nice, especially on a game night. The idea of ​​putting a TV outside is cool: even if the screen is a bit small and you can't see very well from the side, it really contributes to the overall good atmosphere. I also want to give a big shout-out to the (blonde) waitress who managed the service almost single-handedly that evening. Between finding seats for people, taking orders, and running back and forth on a packed terrace, she did a fantastic job! However, our experience with the food was a real disappointment. We ordered a pizza (Ham and Cheese), and unfortunately, the quality was lacking. The crust was extremely thin, the toppings very sparse, and worst of all, the bottom of the pizza was completely burnt. For that price, or even less, you can easily find much better pizzas elsewhere. I completely understand that the establishment was very busy that evening because of the match, but in this case, it would be better to inform customers that the kitchen couldn't keep up with demand rather than serving food of this quality. Furthermore, a small piece of constructive advice for the team regarding organization: we were served at our table without being asked to pay. When we wanted to pay, we had to queue at the bar, in the same place as everyone else ordering drinks during the match. Once at the bar, the order slips seemed scattered and mixed up. Luckily, we are honest customers and came over to pay the bill ourselves, because anyone could have left without paying in this confusion. It would surely be simpler (and safer for you) to have customers pay when they order or as soon as the food is served, especially on busy evenings. In summary: a very good place for drinks and watching a match, but I would not recommend eating there.

A small bistro right in front of the church in the heart of Briançon. The service was uncomplicated and charmingly rustic. The pizzas were excellent. Thin, crispy crust and delicious toppings. The reasonable prices completed the positive overall impression. Go there!

An iconic Briançon establishment, with chef Armand at the helm who truly knows his craft and every cut of meat! Thank you for this magnificent dish!! A warm welcome, excellent wines from small vineyards, and a wonderfully cheerful service. A special thank you to Mika for his great sense of humor! I'll be back!
