We went there as a family last night (5 adults and a baby) and let me tell you, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, both visually and in terms of the food. The setting is magnificent, the cutlery is changed between each course (which is rare in restaurants these days), the dishes are beautifully presented, and the portions are generous (you won't leave hungry). The best part is that, despite all this, you don't get ripped off when the bill arrives. Honestly, if you're ever in Fontevraud-l'Abbaye, go without hesitation.

Refined structure with three recently renovated double bedrooms (one large and two smaller) Excellent restaurant and breakfast with top quality products I warn you: you have to take your luggage to the 1st floor through a small stair But we are in a period structure and you can't expect everything

A one-night stay at La Licorne. A very warm welcome and a superb room with lots of thoughtful touches. The room is spacious and comfortable, everything is modern and functional. Breakfast served in the garden is generous and very fresh. A wonderful place to stay to enjoy the region and the abbey.

A superb little gem in Fontevraud. We were captivated from the moment we entered the restaurant: the tables are beautifully set with Limoges porcelain plates, the decor is elegant, and the atmosphere is hushed. The value for money is excellent. The dishes are sophisticated, inventive, and delicious. Truly a wonderful discovery!

23/08/2026: Exceptional meal with impeccable service.
18/08/2026: We had lunch facing a fire extinguisher! We had booked for six people at least two months ago. The table we were assigned upon arrival was right next to the restaurant entrance, a thoroughfare. Three of us had a view of a wall with a fire extinguisher and evacuation plan, while the other three could still glimpse the cloister garden. We asked if it would be possible to have a more pleasant seat to better appreciate the sumptuous setting. This wasn't possible. A huge disappointment. The kindness of the staff cheered us up a little. A special mention goes to head sommelier Aurélien Usal: his choices and explanations for the "Essential Emotion" wine pairing were remarkable. The meal itself was delicious. All that remained was the frustration and sadness of not being able to fully appreciate the beauty of the place. The view of the fire extinguisher and the evacuation plan shattered the magic of lunch at a Michelin-starred restaurant...

23/07/2026: We arrived unexpectedly and were greeted with smiles and warmth. The experience was pleasant and the meal delicious in a relaxing setting. I recommend it 🙂
