La Licorne sur Fontevraud-L'Abbaye

A superb little gem in Fontevraud. We were captivated from the moment we entered the restaurant: the tables are beautifully set with Limoges porcelain plates, the decor is elegant, and the atmosphere is hushed. The value for money is excellent. The dishes are sophisticated, inventive, and delicious. Truly a wonderful discovery!

A lovely restaurant with a large terrace, refined and delicious cuisine, and a very friendly and professional staff. A great find, we highly recommend it.

We had a delightful meal in the charming winter garden. The service was courteous and attentive. The wine selection is extensive.

Initially, we were told we couldn't sit in the main restaurant because it was fully reserved—which wasn't true. Only the manager finally allowed us to sit there.

Everything was perfect. I highly recommend the soufflé dessert with delicious orange sorbet.

During our stay in the village, La Licorne was the first restaurant we stopped at, and we weren't disappointed. The chic country atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the glass roof is stunning. The welcome and service were excellent, despite the young waitress accidentally spilling a tablecloth at the beginning of our meal, which didn't detract from our enjoyment. The gougères served as an amuse-bouche were divine! Congratulations to the chef! The fish was succulent, but the pork tournedos with polenta was a little lacking in sauce, and the plate on which it was presented wasn't, in my opinion, the most suitable choice. For dessert, a special mention goes to the almond tart; the limoncello tiramisu was a bit too syrupy, but still delicious! If we return to the area, we'll gladly come back to enjoy the outdoor seating and its peaceful setting this time!

We had a wonderful Easter weekend at La Licorne. The room was comfortable and beautifully decorated. It was very peaceful. As for the food, it was a pure delight with impeccable service. We highly recommend this charming place!
