La Maison Jaune sur Les Ancizes-Comps

While in the area for the weekend, we stopped by "somewhat by chance," and in the end, I highly recommend this establishment. The storefront is unassuming, and the interior decor is nothing special. However, we received a very warm welcome, the owner was very kind, and the waitress was fantastic! We were served quite quickly, despite the restaurant being packed. We opted for an excellent truffade (note: you have to like garlic :-) ). The ratings speak for themselves. Thank you again for your hospitality :-)

Fast service, very good food and desserts

Don't be put off by the storefront if you're hesitating, because the value for money you'll find inside is unbeatable. Perhaps we just caught them on a lucky day, but a starter, main course, cheese, and dessert for under €20 for such well-prepared, homemade food (spring rolls with scallops and crayfish, sweetbread puff pastries, a cheese platter, and four homemade desserts to choose from) is a rare find! They also offer a daily set menu, a children's menu (with two real butcher's sausages, not industrial chipolatas or nuggets...), and three à la carte dishes, including a truffade that's among the best in the region. I'm rarely enthusiastic about restaurants, but it would be a shame to miss out on this place because of an uninviting exterior.

We stopped by on a Sunday. What a pleasant surprise! The daily special was delicious. The truffade was excellent. We highly recommend it.
