Very disappointed by the Welsh rarebit, which resembled a pasty, grainy mash and was nothing like what a Welsh rarebit should be, which in my opinion should be elastic. The service was pleasant, however.

If you want to try a dish from the North, don't hesitate to step inside this Estaminet; the atmosphere is warm, the food is very tasty, and we were very well received.

Excellent experience at La Petite Table! I'm so glad I discovered this place for my future Welsh rarebits. The food is exquisite and the service is particularly warm! The local beer is a big plus. I highly recommend it! 🔥

A lovely small place with delicious food. We sat at a small table on the ground floor, ordered different dishes, and the wine they recommended was also very good. You definitely should make a reservation.

Hello, I'm currently staying in Lille and, wanting to discover the region's specialties, I went to this traditional Flemish pub. The waitress was really pleasant and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. It's true the place is small, but that's what makes it so charming! My friends and I ordered Welsh rarebit, Flemish carbonnade, a Maroilles cheese sauce on the side, and a merveilleux (truly the typical dishes you find in a traditional Flemish pub). It was delicious; we even ordered more fried Maroilles. You can also ask for a little comic book that explains the origins of these dishes and tells you anecdotes about the city—a comic book for locals and adults alike (you'll understand the joke after seeing it). You'll have a great time there, believe me. Enjoy your meal, everyone! (Another joke from the little book) ;)

We had booked a table for 2:30 pm and tried our luck earlier. The welcome was cold, so we cancelled our reservation and went to another restaurant. Therefore, I can't comment on the food or the service, but the reception left us cold.

As its name says, there are indeed small tables, with a very cozy and friendly atmosphere. The staff is very kind and attentive with great service. The food was delicious. It is definitely a place to try while in Lille.

17/02/2026: I discovered L’Estaminet Au Vieux De La Vieille in Lille, and it’s definitely a must-visit for experiencing authentic Northern French cuisine. Located in Vieux-Lille, the setting is typical and authentic, with a warm decor reminiscent of Flemish traditions. From the moment you arrive, the welcome is friendly and welcoming. The team is professional, dynamic, and very attentive to service. You can feel the real organization, even when the restaurant is full. As for the food, it’s a real treat. The regional specialties are generous and flavorful: Welsh rarebit, Flemish carbonnade, local dishes… everything is prepared with care and respect for traditional recipes. The portions are substantial, and the value for money is excellent. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, perfect for a meal with friends or family, or for introducing visitors to Lille’s gastronomy. For its authenticity, the quality of its dishes, the professionalism of its service, and the typical atmosphere of Old Lille, L’Estaminet Au Vieux De La Vieille is clearly one of the best restaurants in Lille. I highly recommend it.
