La Porte Sainte Claire sur Annecy

Fabulous food with a great authentic atmosphere. I had dinner there last night with my family which was the best dinner of my entire holiday by far.

A wonderful evening at La Porte Saint-Claire We had an excellent experience last night at this restaurant in Annecy. From the very first bite, the accras were light, perfectly seasoned, and delicious. For the main course, we enjoyed a Caribbean beef fillet and Arctic char, both cooked to perfection with incredibly fresh ingredients. The red berry dessert followed the same theme: simple yet excellent. But what truly sets this place apart is the atmosphere and the warm welcome. Pauline and Théo provide attentive and natural service, without ever being intrusive. As for Laurent, the chef-owner, you can tell he runs his establishment with great care—and has done so for over 30 years. In an industry where restaurants close as quickly as they open, 30 years at the same establishment is no small feat. Our neighbors at the next table had opted for the €27 three-course menu and seemed delighted—a formula we'll likely try next time. A handy bonus: the Porte Sinclair parking lot is right next door. From the welcome to the food: 5/5! I highly recommend this place. A lovely little terrace, very pleasant service, and a truly delicious meal. I left Annecy with the grandpas, all completely satisfied!

We had a good time. But as for the ribeye with morel sauce… it was okay… the morels weren't in the sauce, they were on the meat itself, with bits of sinew and fat…

A wonderful discovery. We tried the suggested dishes, the knives were marvelous. The Berthoud was to die for...in short, not to be missed...admittedly not a very large room, so remember to book, it's worth the trip.

Exceptional! This meal was a delight, quite memorable as it brought back many culinary memories. I highly recommend it.

A €27 set menu including starter, main course, and dessert. The presentation was nice, but the quality was nothing special. Drinks were served directly into the glass: one Coke and one Perrier. No bottles; we thought that was no longer allowed. A brasserie in Grésy-sur-Aix offers better quality dishes at this price. We're still paying top dollar in Annecy. Friendly staff.

While out and about in Annecy, we had lunch at this restaurant. The set menu was €27 and included a lovely plate of salad and homemade terrine, filet mignon with Reblochon and mushroom sauce, and a meringue with génépi sorbet! The portions were perfect! I highly recommend this place!

Unfortunately, I found the service to be rather below average. We didn't feel very welcome, more like we were being tolerated. The food tasted good, but with a little imagination, the presentation could certainly have been more appealing. I also would have appreciated some vegetables. I would consider the price rather high. The restaurant is well located.
