La Table du Lavoir sur Martillac

29/07/2026: A good restaurant that deserves two stars despite the higher price point. The six-course vegetarian menu (€225) with fish is varied. The presentation of the artichoke (reconstructed) is a masterpiece and very good. The dishes are flavorful and beautifully presented, no complaints there. However, the wine pairing seems excessive for the price (€165) with four wines: a Krug champagne (very good), a decent white Anjou wine (but it's a Loire wine), the same for the Bordeaux white from a neighboring estate, and finally a red from the Laffitte estate, the Haut de Smith, which is acceptable. But at that price, a small glass (given the small size of the glass!) of the Haut Laffitte Grand Cru would have elevated the quality of these four wines. When signing the list of aperitifs, pairings, and wines not included on the bill, I noticed that I was being charged for water and coffee that were included in the stay! This somewhat spoiled the meal; a discussion among the staff seems necessary to avoid this inconvenience. The service was adequate, provided by very young but efficient staff. The table cleaning, done only once, needs improvement.
