La Table du Vatican sur Carcassonne

I've lived in Carcassonne for two years now, and I so regret not having discovered this restaurant sooner! The warm and welcoming atmosphere, the smiling servers, and the excellent, generous portions (the pizza dough is simply amazing!) will have us coming back very, very soon!

It was my first time, I was discovering this establishment, the setting is great, the staff are friendly and attentive, the food is good as noted by the whole table, lacking salt and taste, a shame.

For our first romantic weekend away without the kids, we chose La Table du Vatican, the medieval city of Carcassonne, and a good restaurant. The menu alone, along with photos from other reviews, made our mouths water. We booked directly and were pleasantly surprised by the place, which at first glance appears busy, but actually transforms into a haven of well-being and warmth. The ambiance, the soothing yet subdued music, the smiling and efficient waiters, the quick and easy wait between courses, the responsiveness to orders, and the ever-present smiles all contributed to a wonderful experience. As for the food, words fail to adequately describe it; there's so much to say. I had the pasta, which was a delight—the flavors were truly exceptional. My husband ordered a pizza, and the crust alone was incredible; you could eat it plain, it had an exceptional taste. The toppings were so fresh and perfectly balanced that you could taste every ingredient in every bite, culminating in a deliciously smooth and creamy combination. We finished with a decadent dessert where homemade touches were clearly on display. For us, it was a true delight for our taste buds, and without exaggeration, the best restaurant we've ever eaten at. Just reading the menu made the names of each dish so delightful; we're still laughing about it. I thank the entire team for their warm welcome and for making this place magical and our evening so exceptional. We will definitely be back.

A pleasant surprise… The decor, the ambiance, everything is top-notch. It's delightful to discover this kind of place where they take the time to create a carefully curated setting. The service is impeccable; despite the crowd, the staff were always on point. The owners are present throughout the entire service and don't hesitate to check on you to make sure everything is alright. But let's talk about the main event: the food. How can I put it… we were in heaven. For starters, we had the burrata with pesto, a real treat. It had been a long time since I'd had one so good and so generous. Truly excellent. I was a little less enthusiastic about the lobster linguine, but that's a matter of taste. The pizzas are delicious. And oh my goodness, the cinnamon and apple pizza crust was pure bliss, absolutely divine. I highly recommend it. Don't hesitate and enjoy!

A gargantuan dessert that caps off a very good meal. A little pricey for some starters, but the shared plate is very good.

Such a hidden gem! Highly recommended,the food was amazing, and the staff were very attentive and kind. We don’t speak any French, but they kindly tried to explain the menu in Spanish. I celebrated my birthday there, and they even added a candle to my dessert 🎂✨ Merci beaucoup! 💖
