A wonderful discovery. We were there to scout it out, as we're coming with about fifty seniors on April 14th. We'll suggest to the tourist office, which is organizing the visit, that they lighten the menu. One drawback: only one restroom for women.

Chez la Vieille is a real gem! The cuisine is generous, authentic, and bursting with flavor, just the way we like it in the North. The dishes are made with quality ingredients, the portions are hearty, and everything is perfectly executed. Special mention goes to the welcome: warm, simple, and genuine, you immediately feel at ease. A friendly place where you come as much for the delicious food as for the pleasant atmosphere. I highly recommend it!

14/02/2026: Very disappointed by the Welsh rarebit, which resembled a pasty, grainy mash and was nothing like what a Welsh rarebit should be, which in my opinion should be elastic. The service was pleasant, however.
10/02/2026: If you want to try a dish from the North, don't hesitate to step inside this Estaminet; the atmosphere is warm, the food is very tasty, and we were very well received.

11/12/2025: It's always a pleasure to return to eat in the hinterland. The food is excellent, the setting is pleasant, and the staff is welcoming. This restaurant is my favorite in Lille.
