Le Bar Fred' sur Digne-Les-Bains

While walking around Paris, I accidentally came across Merveilleux. Now I feel like I’ll be coming to Paris much more often just because of this pastry. From the very first bite, it feels as if you’ve been invited to a reception with the French Queen. Incredibly light French meringue, the most delicate cream… it’s simply magical. I tried almost every flavor, but I especially recommend the Speculoos and the seasonal Lemon Merveilleux. Don’t eat this pastry on the go. Take it with you in its incredibly beautiful box, find a nearby French garden, grab a good cup of coffee, and simply give yourself time to enjoy this pastry. It’s these little moments that become the memories we keep from our travels. Sometimes, one small pastry can give you far more emotions than a long list of famous sights.

TRY THE GIANT PANGOCCIOLO... even though it's unpronounceable in French for me😅 Friendly and helpful staff

Giant and delicious Pangocciolo

Pan gocciolo is famous throughout Paris for its size and deliciousness. My expectations were confirmed: a pan gocciolo easily feeds three people and costs €4.90. We were lucky enough to get it, and it was still warm, and believe me, it's a whole different story. The flavor is a thousand times better than when cold (which is still worth it). It's an expense and an experience I definitely recommend, and I'd definitely try again.

Must try their Merveilleux! > The desserts here are light, airy, and melt in your mouth. I tried the chocolate and pistachio ones—both were amazing and not too sweet. The shop has a great artisanal feel; while there is no seating area and the interior is a bit cramped, it’s definitely worth stopping by to grab a sweet treat to go!

This pastry shop, which sells brioche bread topped with chocolate chips or cream and also makes excellent cakes, has many branches in Paris.

Huge Pangoccioli, freshly baked hot at all hours, are a delight to share for just €4.70. We ate there every day during our trip!
