Le Barbier Qui Fume sur Lille

I deducted one star for the atmosphere, as our table, located near the stairs and in the servers' passageway, wasn't the most pleasant. Be sure to specify that you're in the dining room when making a reservation. But it's still a good place.

First time we've found a table here... Good rating/just what we were looking for.... It's a brasserie, so my rating won't go above 4.8... The menu is perfect for meat lovers, with just the right amount of smoked meat... just what you need, but nothing more. The choice of dishes is complicated for meat lovers, or you have to come back several times... that must be the point.... In the end, a very nice and tasty dish, very filling, with fries more than adequate considering my expectations (-0.1). The male staff were excellent. The price was in line with expectations, even very good value for money. The restrooms are rustic/a nice place, but fine. The dessert was decent, although it's located opposite Fred's Merveilleux, which remains my ultimate dessert, and it's not on the menu. You can take home a homemade hayloft. I even ordered half a smoked filet mignon for the road.... We'll be back. Okay, 4.7. After a second visit and a superb sauerkraut dish, I'm raising it to 4.9.

Excellent! Superb service in a very pleasant atmosphere. Excellent and flavorful dishes at a reasonable price. A real treat.

For meat lovers, this is the perfect place. The fish is very good too. The small butcher's counter at the entrance is a very original touch. Go for it without hesitation; there are three of them in Lille.

We arrived without a reservation, but the waiter found us two seats at the last minute. The Flemish carbonnade was delicious; we thoroughly enjoyed it. We also ordered a rib as a starter, which was well worth the trip. Their cooking/smoking technique gives it a wonderful flavor and keeps the meat incredibly tender. I highly recommend it.

The atmosphere was very cozy. We were served by Elsa, who was very friendly and attentive, and she even helped us a bit with our Lille itinerary choices. The dishes were excellent and very generous. The prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food.
