Le Fossile sur Lille

A wonderful experience at Le Fossile! 🤩 We came to try the famous hanger steak with shallots, renowned as one of the restaurant's specialties, and we were definitely not disappointed! The meat was excellent, perfectly cooked, and the shallot sauce was delicious. 🥩 A big thank you also to Gabin, who took care of us with great kindness and professionalism. His attentive, friendly, and very pleasant service truly made our meal even more enjoyable. A fantastic place that we highly recommend. We will gladly return!

A very pleasant experience, with particular attention paid to presentation and service. We arrived slightly early and were taken care of immediately, which was much appreciated. We started with a high-quality platter, featuring a nice variety of items, allowing us to enjoy a generous and enjoyable selection. For my main course, I chose the hanger steak with shallots. The meat was served hand-carved, a service I had never encountered before and found very thoughtful. This small detail made a real difference in the presentation of the dish. This restaurant stands out for its efficient service, the quality of its products, and a few thoughtful touches that make the experience particularly enjoyable.

Shallot hanger steak for the win.

There are restaurants that remain unassuming, that don't necessarily seek the limelight, but are true gems: Le Fossille is a perfect example! Their signature dish, Onglet à l'Échalote (Shallot Steak), is simply divine! Generous portions, served with fries, green salad with vinaigrette, ratatouille, and grilled endive, will leave you feeling full long before you've finished it, but you simply can't resist finishing it! Even the side dishes, which are classic favorites, are perfect and flavorful. In any case, those who don't finish their meal shouldn't be allowed into heaven ;-) The appetizers and desserts are also classics, very well executed (or slightly revisited in interesting ways – like the Baba au Rhum, for example). Add to that professional, fast, energetic, friendly, and witty service, the ambiance of a classic French restaurant... and an incredible selection of Armagnac! In short, for me, one of the best places! A must-see when visiting Lille.

Stunning restaurant. Lovely interior and the meals are served with romantic charm. This restaurant is especially recommended for meat eaters. Reservations are advisable, even on weekdays.

Excellent restaurant in Lille. We arrived with no reservation and were seated downstairs which was fine. The staff were pleasant and knowledgeable. The food was good. Would happily go back again.
