A truly wonderful discovery!
A real treat from start to finish: subtle, bold, and perfectly executed flavor combinations that showcase genuine culinary creativity. Each dish is a surprise, as beautiful as it is delicious.
Special mention goes to the wine recommendations, which were spot-on and perfectly suited to the experience, further enhancing it.
And what can we say about the welcome and service: friendly, attentive, and professional without being stuffy. You simply feel at ease.
A bistronomic gem just the way we like them, one we're already looking forward to returning to.

Le Chameau Ivre is now a must-visit in Béziers, and clearly one of the most exciting restaurants in the area for wine lovers.
Originally created by the Catus winery, the establishment has grown impressively and transformed into a truly exceptional bistronomic restaurant, while retaining its deep-rooted passion for wine.
The experience begins in the dining room: you're seated amidst the wine cabinets, literally surrounded by bottles, facing an open kitchen that adds rhythm and vibrancy to the space. Whether you prefer low or high tables, the atmosphere is elegant yet relaxed, and you immediately feel at home—whether for a formal evening or a more spontaneous one.
The wine list is extensive and intelligently curated, with a strong, logical, and exciting selection from Languedoc and Roussillon. But all the other regions are also represented: Burgundy, Loire, Rhône, Jura, not to mention a selection from more independent and contemporary wineries. Here you'll find both great classics and more recent offerings, sometimes natural, always well-chosen, from renowned or clearly talented winemakers.
A true playground for wine geeks, without ever becoming exclusive.
On the plate, the quality lives up to the wine cellar. Precise, clear, and elegant cuisine, with a real mastery of cooking techniques and sauces. The ingredients are treated with respect, the dishes are intelligently constructed, without being overdone. Special mention goes to the perfectly executed fish dishes, with their perfectly balanced sauces and emulsions, as well as the desserts, indulgent yet refined, without being heavy. This is clearly chef-driven cuisine, technically accomplished when necessary, but always accessible.
The service is professional, relaxed, and very knowledgeable about both wine and food, offering relevant and never intrusive advice. There's a real sense of cohesion between the dining room, the wine cellar, and the kitchen.
Le Chameau Ivre has clearly evolved: from an excellent restaurant sourced from a renowned Béziers wine cellar, it has become a fully-fledged establishment, ambitious, expertly crafted, and deeply rooted in wine culture.
An absolute must for discerning wine lovers… and a pure delight for everyone else.

A meal with friends, excellent service and staff, professionalism and friendliness, dishes prepared to perfection. I particularly recommend the turbot, cooked to perfection, worthy of a gourmet restaurant.

The shepherd's pie with venelle meat, like the sea bream fillet with watercress sauce, was... absolutely excellent! Not to mention, for me, the caramelized chocolate mousse... delicate, light, and delicious!
In short, a must-try restaurant in Béziers... for a reasonable price of €56 for two... including a glass of wine... served at the table with the bottle opened right in front of you and offered a taste beforehand ==> a truly exceptional experience!!
