First lunch in this restaurant. Top value for money, fine and quality cuisine, impeccable and fast service I highly recommend

I have come to eat at La Garenne several times, where I always enjoy the taste. However, I really have to point out that the service is more than annoying for several reasons: - we are served by several different servers which leads to a lot of confusion, errors on the invoice (1 bottle of wine extra once...) etc, - advice that is sometimes off the mark, - “express 1 hour” options for lunch which ultimately last 2 hours because of the service. I am not questioning the qualification of the servers but rather the organization which drags out the meal. (We once stayed 3 hours for a meal….. 1 hour wait between the starter and the main course….). It would be really important that you remedy this shaky organization which taints the experience in your brand where we take great pleasure.

Excellent meal: delicious foie gras, magnificent lamb, original dessert. Small downside in terms of service, no connection between aperitifs, starters and wines... Can’t wait for the terrace!

Delicious refined cuisine, a treat!

We took advantage of this hotel and restaurant as part of a gift card. The contact made before our stay, the reservation as well as the welcome were completely professional and in line with the standard sought. The room, very beautiful, nicely decorated and very clean, lived up to our expectations. It was functional and opened onto a small terrace. Breakfast the next day was served at the table following validation the day before of one of the proposals made by the establishment (savory, sweet or healthy breakfast). Everything was well presented, sufficient and good. Dinner the day before took place in the mountain chalet style restaurant, lots of wood, large fireplace etc...very cozy and which suited us well. As mentioned above, we were present as part of a gift card which specified a 4-course menu according to the chef's inspiration, an aperitif, 2 glasses of wine, 1/2 bottle of water and coffee, all for 2 people. . When we arrived at the restaurant, we were asked to be there by 7 p.m., we gave the voucher to the lady who served, who very quickly told us that we had to choose a starter, a main course and a dessert from the menu (what about the 4 dishes according to the inspiration of the chef?) and that we could also take a suggestion of the day etc....and that depending on our choices we would pay the supplement if we had exceeded the sum of the voucher, which we did not know not...what if we were under the value of the gift voucher? It's all very complicated, nothing is clear in terms of the restaurant and the service...the announcement of the day's suggestions was made out loud as well as the price of the dishes.... With the aperitif not an appetizer mouth, nothing with the coffee either... We therefore chose a starter, a main course and a dessert and were disappointed with the quality of the dishes served. As a starter, a dandelion salad with a mini slice of grilled foie gras...the salad was excessively salty, disgusting. We informed the lady who was serving, she came back to tell us that it was the fault of an intern and that in compensation she was offering us aperitifs (which were part of the gift voucher???). My wife had fish served in a very small portion and without relief (where did the saffron advertised in the dish go?), I had poorly cooked duck breast and only 4 small slices with carrots in 3 forms as an accompaniment ...for the gourmet coffee dessert without really being so, the planned chocolate fondant replaced by a tasteless tiramisu mousse because the pastry chef decided so... I'm not in the habit of discrediting restaurants but here we We left the table very disappointed at 8:30 p.m. after an expeditious service. There are certainly things to review, was the chef absent that evening (perhaps he would have come to see us after the complaint about the over-salted starter?). In conclusion the welcome, the hotel, the location, the decoration etc... top notch, the restaurant, the service, the respect of commitments in relation to the gift card etc... a flop. We didn't pay extra, was there anything left on the card? Damage ...
