One Sunday lunchtime in August, we stopped at Le Coq d'Or which is well rated on Google. We are with our 2 daughters on the terrace who behave well. The food is ok nothing more. I take my daughters to the bathroom and in the meantime, the waiter offers my husband a coffee and says "you must need it with all these girls". I find it sexist and unwelcome, especially since the children behaved very well at the table.

Not a good experience. Service was very slow and food was passable but not exceptional and overpriced. I had the classic burger, which was overcooked and the french fries were cold

Wij hebben hier in augustus 2024 gegeten. We konden terecht zonder reservering. Mijn zoon 12 jaar koos de crispy hamburger (broodje met friet en mijn dochter (7 jaar) het kindermenu: frietjes met hamburger. Mijn vriendin en ik voor het menu van 38,- 3 gangen wat er veel belovend uit zag.
De bediening was matig, afstandelijk en onpersoonlijk. We aten 3 weken Spanje gewend waar de bediening persoonlijk en betrokken is. Het eten viel ook wat tegen. Met name het hoofdmenu, de kwaliteit van het was niet super mals en de sauce was kazig maar met heel veel knoflook. De kinderen hebben lekker en voldoende gegeten.
Wij gaan hier niet snel naar terug.

I really liked the place. An old school side that I love. As for the cuisine, I advise you to try the duck leg confit with its Pineau des Charentes sauce (homemade fries). Easy to park. Access ramp for the disabled, that was cool, however access to the toilets is impossible for a person in a wheelchair. (In the basement access by staircase). The price is reasonable.

Very nice discovery this afternoon. Excellent dishes (except the slightly dry rum baba).. Special mention to the gentle and very professional waitresses. To recommend without worries. See you soon in Cognac

Great restaurant in the centre of Cognac. The staff were friendly and it was busy. I had a tomato starter with cheese and salmon main course. It was pretty good. Vegetarian options limited

Je ne venais plus en cet endroit car ils refusaient les petits chiens 🐕 mais un Dimanche soir ou ils avaient peu de monde ils m'ont autorisé, bon c'était bien mais il me semble que c'était mieux avant ?
