We received a very warm welcome from the staff, even with our two dogs.
They gave us excellent advice on the meals, which were superb. The menu is enticing, and the daily special is beautifully presented. The kindness and helpfulness of the servers (including Max) and the manager made our visit truly enjoyable in a very welcoming atmosphere.
We will be back! Thank you all!

Managed to get in before fully booked lunch with my family. Once filled the place was buzzing with "happy food energy". Staf was great with reasonably quick service. Like most French restaurants need to take time for the food. Enjoy mixed of tapas like dishes with lovely charcuterie. Do not miss the list of available Cognac on the last two pages 😉

Restaurant on Place François 1er, right in the heart of Cognac, with a charming, retro brasserie-style decor. Very warm welcome and quick, efficient service. Excellent food, a perfect ribeye steak and beef tartare served with crispy fries. The desserts were also very good: a cognac crème brûlée.

A gray and icy New Year's Eve outside, but a warm welcome at Le Coq d'Or, with its Art Nouveau decor, wood paneling, and stained glass windows, and its delicious and generous cuisine. The onion soup is to die for! The andouillette sausage and mashed potatoes are perfect. The service is attentive. Thank you.
