We had a wonderful evening at Darnétal. The service was impeccable from start to finish. Great care was taken to ensure my partner and I felt comfortable (thank you, Estelle). The dishes were excellent (gravlax, warm oysters, steak, chocolate mousse, and chocolate fondant), and the wine suggestions were very well chosen. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, and the decor is very tasteful. I highly recommend it!

An experience to repeat.
The baked egg was excellent.
The lamb shank and sweetbreads were a pure delight.
The dessert was a moment of escape to end our meal.
An address to remember.

Lovely cosy brasserie in heart of Montreuil. First came here in 1980s but new owners have refurbished completely with an open kitchen. My starter of fresh prawns was very good but my rump steak ‘a point’ was on the dry side. Suggest order ‘saignant’ rather than ‘a point’. Chips with skins on were bit limp, not crispy. The bearnaise sauce was solid not runny. My wife had snails which were ok but her coquille saint jaques main course was excellent. Good wine by the glass. Very good service.

Excellent restaurant. Between the warm welcome, the service, and the delicious food, we had a wonderful time.
Plus, the set menu is fantastic; you can even get a regular coffee instead of an espresso at no extra charge. A real treat!

Le Darnétal is the kind of neighborhood bistro you dream of finding when you’re in France. Located in the heart of Montreuil, this spot perfectly balances a cozy, unpretentious atmosphere with truly exceptional cuisine. Everything was incredibly fresh and seasonal. It has that authentic, warm Parisian-outskirt charm. The staff were attentive, friendly, and clearly passionate about the menu. For the quality of the cooking, LeDarnétal is a lovely reminder of why French bistro culture is so beloved.
