Nice decor in the dining room, decent food typical of the north.

A fantastic discovery at L'Estaminet Le Pain de la Bouche in Lens! They serve authentic Northern French cuisine, generous and delicious. The andouille sausage gratin with Maroilles cheese is simply amazing: meltingly tender, rich, and perfectly complemented by fries cooked in beef fat – a real treat. And to finish, the "pain de chien" (a type of bread) served with crème anglaise is a true delicacy. A must-visit for lovers of Northern French specialties, with homemade dishes that evoke the best of tradition. I'll definitely be back!

Great atmosphere! Everything is delicious! Be sure to book in advance! Friendly staff. Paid parking at the train station is right next door. It was for a birthday meal. We'll definitely be back!

The welcome and service were very pleasant. The dining room was small and very crowded, therefore noisy. The portions were generous.

What a wonderful little find. Recommended to us by our B&B owner and we’re so pleased we went. The Faluche were delicious. A new experience for us! Staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful, even with our appalling attempts at French and the atmosphere was really lovely, very busy even on a Tuesday night so just goes to show how good it is. We booked online easily for our first meal of our holiday. Here’s hoping the standard continues for the rest of our trip!

Very good, I'd even say excellent! I had a wonderful time in this very friendly restaurant. The northern specialties are top-notch, the portions are incredibly generous, and the staff are very pleasant. I 100% recommend this restaurant and I will definitely be back.

Great, authentic, good food, not too expensive.

We recently tried this restaurant, which we'd heard a lot about. The atmosphere is very pleasant, with a well-executed and enjoyable vintage concept. However, the heat inside the restaurant was almost unbearable, even though it was a heatwave. As for the food, I decided to try a faluche (a type of flatbread) on the waitress's recommendation. I was a little disappointed: I was told it would be two slices, but I only received one, without the salad that was supposed to accompany it. The taste was good, but nothing exceptional. My husband ordered the hot Welsh rarebit with Maroilles cheese, but the endive was quite bitter, which somewhat spoiled the dish. On the other hand, the children's menu was a big plus; it was very generous. In the end, our opinion was rather mixed: a pleasant and original setting, but a culinary experience that didn't completely win us over.
