Le Vieux Siège sur Beziers

A lovely time in a pleasant setting on Place des Trois Six. We thoroughly enjoyed our various dishes: the "Salad of the Old Seat," the salmon tartare, and the enormous anchovy spread (a dish for two). The XXL gourmet coffee was also a highlight. The tarts were fresh. The staff was very friendly and smiling (especially the young waitress). Highly recommended.

Great little restaurant, the prices are more than reasonable. Everything is homemade. I recommend it.

Early September 2026: Passing through Béziers, we decided to have lunch at "Le Vieux Siège," rated 3.5 on Google, because the restaurant we had planned to go to was closed ☹️. We were disappointed by the service (the staff unfortunately didn't seem very happy 🫤). We ordered two sweet white wines as an aperitif at €4 each (rating: 3.5/5 for value for money) and a duck breast for €19 (rare for me), which I enjoyed despite a few sinews (rating: 4/5). However, my wife was very disappointed with how it was cooked; it arrived slightly burnt, even though she had asked for it medium-rare 😲 (rating: 2/5 for her). We ordered a pitcher of red wine to accompany our meal (2.5/5) and finished with a Dame Blanche (a generous portion 👍 which I rate 4/5 because the chocolate sauce was a bit thin) and a coffee for my wife. In conclusion, I did appreciate the owner's gesture of offering us the coffee as compensation for the burnt duck breast 👍, but I recommend she give the chef some instructions if she wants to improve her Google rating 😉 and ask the staff to be a bit more cheerful (that way we could leave them a tip 🤞). It's a shame because it deserved better 🫤.

Unbeatable value for money with the set menu (starter, main course, dessert). Centrally located in Béziers. Highly recommended! 👍

Good value for money; we paid around €70 for two adults and two children, ordering set lunch menus for ourselves and two children's menus, including aperitifs. Quite well located, behind the cathedral. The service was very good. The quality of the food was decent, in line with the price.

A sirloin steak with bits of sinew. And when you have a Marc on the menu and you don't have him. Full star deduction. Moreover, the main course arrived before we had finished our aperitif. Just luring tourists and not delivering. So three stars is already too much.

The 3.6 rating is undeserved. The staff is very welcoming, the €18.90 menu is excellent value for money, and they took into account our two-and-a-half-year-old daughter by serving her first, demonstrating professional attention. I highly recommend it.
