During our stay in Lille for the half-marathon, we discovered by chance on a Saturday afternoon while chatting on the sidewalk after the service, the team of this bistro. We went there on Monday lunchtime and we were so impressed. well received, the lunch with northern specialties was excellent, and therefore we highly recommend this bistro, Thanks again to the whole small team, it was a pleasure the “Bretons”

While passing through Lille, we stumbled into this bistro. What a welcome ! As if we were at home. Not only is the service top notch, but we enjoyed ourselves from aperitif to dessert.

The boss and lady are extremely nice. I really liked the anti-waste principle to avoid throwing away leftovers and the accompanying portions are reasonable and you can ask for discounts. What a good idea

Great restaurant. Very good value for money... Very welcoming... I needed to eat quickly and it was done! Very good atmosphere also with the other guests... Really nice! And it's very good!

La Vieille Assiette

30/03/2024: A delight ! Very warm welcome in an estaminet setting. Divine Flemish stew and equally excellent American fillet. Served generously and quickly. Room a bit small and noisy when there are people, but it's difficult to push the walls :-) We've been here several times already and it's our favorite restaurant. You can go there with your eyes closed. Remember to book!
22/03/2024: La Vieille Assiette is exactly everything an estaminet should be. The dishes are really excellent (we tasted the welsh, the chti burger, the carbonnade, the Marengo veal, the pork cheek) and were unanimously appreciated by the table. The welcome and service are friendly and pleasant, and the decor is typical without being "too much". We feel really good: at home if we come from the region, and welcomed if we discover it. We leave in a good mood and with a full stomach. Thank you, we will come back, for sure! Edit: We've come back plenty of times and we'll come back again.
