L'Embarcadere sur Blois

L'Embarcadère, a charming little restaurant on the banks of the Loire. The welcome and service were excellent; the waiters were friendly and pleasant. The food was generally very good, however, not everything was perfect. For starters, we had the gravlax salmon and foie gras, which were delicious, but the croutons served with them were hard and stale. Luckily, the bread was fresh. For our main course, we chose the pollack fish and chips. The portion was generous, the fish was fresh, and the sauce was good, but the fries were just "ordinary" (I suspect they were frozen). The atmosphere was normal, a bit noisy as we were all on the shaded terrace, enjoying the heat, while the main dining room was open. It's a shame we didn't have the option of eating in the air conditioning. I will probably return later this year to try the "winter" menu.

SUPERB experience, just one minor point: far too much oil in both our dishes (perhaps a chef's mistake). But I'll be back! On the other hand, vaping should be banned on terraces just like smoking! I thank my table neighbor for poisoning me last night.

Excellent food. Quiet and relaxing place.

A very beautiful and well-decorated place. We ate on the terrace; it was quite busy for a Friday, but we had made a reservation, which proves the restaurant is well-known and appreciated. The meal was excellent, especially the squid. The staff were discreet and helpful. We were just passing through and would highly recommend it. Thank you for everything.

I was quite pleased with the dishes, which were flavorful and plentiful, and the service was excellent, no complaints whatsoever. The mocktails were good and refreshing, and the setting was beautiful with lovely views.

The setting is certainly very pleasant, but the bill is far too high for the quality of the food. The pasta was a major disappointment, being overcooked and sticky. As for the beef tartare, it wasn't bad, but the quality was very average for the price. In short, you're clearly paying for the location and the view rather than what's on your plate.

A must-try restaurant in Blois. I highly recommend it.

Very nice restaurant, good food, pleasant setting, welcoming staff. Reservations are necessary (the tables outside were already reserved). We were inside and it was hot. Otherwise, perfect.
