Les Jardins de l'Estagnol sur Carcassonne

We had our last meal before going back to Northern Ireland and we picked a great place! The food was incredible and the hosts where very friendly and helpful. We brought our 2 children and my daughter said it was the best food she has had. We would definitely recommend this place.

The staff are very attentive to customers, the food is delicious and high quality, and the prices are very competitive. The atmosphere is very welcoming. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I came one evening with my wife, and what a discovery! Tucked away in the middle of an industrial area, you wouldn't believe it, and yet what a place! Small tables outside under the trees offer peace and quiet, a lovely cool spot. The owner and his family are exceptionally kind, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The food is delicious and the portions generous, especially the foie gras, ribeye steak, and duck breast—all three were excellent. The carafe of red wine was also very good. Excellent value for money. They've been delighting people here for over 20 years, and we wish them at least as many more! Highly recommended.

We accidentally found this restaurant whilst looking for another near the airport. I'm so glad the other one was closed (for the holidays!) Since we loved being in the garden of Le Jardin de L'Estagnol. The garden itself is beautifully planted with some quirky touches (I noticed hats available for when they're too busy for everyone to be in the shade, which is plentiful, to be fair!) The service was very friendly, and in sorry not to have tried some of the delicious looking sangria! They happily converted the pasta dish of the day to a vegetarian option for one of our party, and the goats cheese salad with tasty goats cheese ice cream on the side went down a treat. Others chose geziers salade, which was delicious, as were the "courgette canneloni" (fresh tasting, unexpectedly light) and pasta carbonara. All really nicely presented. If you need somewhere near Carcassonne Airport to start or finish your holiday in France with the "vrai" French experience, (and/but very friendly 😜), or you just want to eat in Carcassonne without worrying about parking or crowds, I highly recommend you come here. Reasonably priced for the care taken and service given at €118 (including a demi of wine and a coca cola).

It's always a great pleasure and a welcome change of scenery to dine at this restaurant. Whether inside or outside on the upper or ground-floor terrace, it's perfect. We've been going for several years now, as a couple, with family, or with colleagues, and it's always perfect. The owners are lovely and approachable. They've transformed this place into a true haven of greenery. The service is always impeccable, and the food is excellent. A must-visit in Carcassonne, whether you're just passing through or a local.
