This was my first time eating in a cave restaurant! A really fun experience: bring a light jacket... The fouées (a type of flatbread) are delicious and filling!

Passing through the region, this was an absolute must-do. The place is fantastic! These cave dwellings are exceptional; they're definitely worth seeing! The meal was very good, with simple dishes. The fouées (a type of flatbread) were delicious, piping hot, and plentiful. The price is reasonable (€26 with coffee and wine), and the service is impeccable. There weren't many people, so we ate in peace and quiet! I highly recommend it...

A wonderful discovery in Saumur! The setting is truly unique and charming. Given the heat that day, we particularly appreciated the coolness of the place; it was very pleasant. The dishes were excellent, with delightful new flavors, all at a very reasonable price. The service was perfect: welcoming, attentive, and warm. In short, a place we highly recommend!

The setting is lovely, the service was a bit rushed but acceptable, and the staff were friendly. The menu was limited, with only two dessert options and no wine list. It's also a shame they posted a video of the fireplace on the website when it was out of order upon arrival. So, for me, it's 3 out of 5.

A charming and unique place. The staff are pleasant. The fouée bread is good. The major drawback is the value for money. The side dishes are poor quality, and the wine is practically nonexistent. A real shame...

The unusual setting (troglodyte caves) adds a unique charm to the place, complementing the already appealing concept, as did the friendly receptionist (we had a reservation for the 30th, but we were there on May 23rd). The meal was hearty, flavorful, and authentic—I couldn't have asked for more—for a reasonable price that reflected the quality of the food.

We have lunch at this restaurant whenever we're in the area. Quality and quantity are both excellent. The fouées are delicious and the fillings are generous. The set menu offers excellent value for money. The service is attentive and friendly.

11/05/2026: Excellent welcome. A warm atmosphere that perfectly complements the food. The chef offers refined cuisine prepared with regional products. It's a delight. We highly recommend this place, which is sure to please every palate.
10/05/2026: May 9, 2026... After much hesitation, we finally decided to step inside La Comédie. Located right next to the theater and just 5 minutes from the casino, we received a very warm welcome from the friendly and smiling manager. Seated in the restaurant's second dining room, we loved the warm and modern decor. And what can we say about the food... A true delight! 😊 We opted for the €34 set menu, featuring excellent quality ingredients, all homemade by the chef. We thoroughly enjoyed it... truly wonderful flavors. La Comédie also offers a €26.50 set menu and à la carte dishes. Completely won over by this first dinner, we won't hesitate to return. So, go for it at La Comédie... Don't judge a book by its cover! 👍 Reservations are made by phone. For all lovers of good, traditional cuisine, we highly recommend it. With pleasure. Delphine and Cyrille
