Tout est parfait : le service , la deco , des vins incroyables et bien sûr : la cuisine Nous avons pris la cocotte de saint Jacques et les sardines incroyables et copieux ! Le thon et espadon délicieux ! Nous reviendrons vite BRAVO

Excellent food, service and atmosphere! Great value for money. Would highly recommend. Some really interesting variations on known dishes - loved the sauce on the confit👍 the spiced bread with the foie gras was delicious.

This lovely eatery managed to fit us in after we had been diverted through the region due to a car crash on one of the larger roads. A chef from a pizzeria in a neighbouring village could not fit us in for lunch but kindly called the owner of L'Escalier. The owner was friendly and the waiting staff incredibly friendly. They spoke to us in a mixture of French and English. They offered a bespoke sharing tapas style starter for the children and then divided a lovely beef main course between them. We ordered the beef too and my wife the tuna steak. The food was delicious, the service fast and friendly. A lovely pit stop! Thank you so much. x

Arriving late, the waitress serves me a small dinner aperitif because the kitchen is closed. Warmly welcomed by an available, welcoming waitress

We came here for our first evening meal whilst holidaying in the area. We have eaten here many times before and loved it , when it used to do small plates, so initially we were disappointed to see they no longer offer this type of menu. However the fish dishes they serve now are absolutely out of this world ! We had salmon steak and swordfish steak, both of which were generous portions covered in the most delicious lobster and lemon creamy sauce . They had a side portion of crispy chips and a varied and well dressed side salad. Totally faultless! And ridiculously good value for money too, at €14 for the salmon and €19 for the swordfish. We were so impressed that we also had desserts…crème brule and chocolate gateaux, both of which were great. The waiting staff were friendly and helpful . We are definitely going to come here again before we return to the UK. Top notch!

Refined cuisine, quality products, impeccable service, very attentive. We asked for a snacked tuna and it was delicious! The Rioja was very balanced, fruity and very good value for money. Don’t hesitate to ask for details of the accompaniments: the homemade fries are delicious and the raw vegetables in salad a real discovery We will come back !! Well done !!
