Excellent food, service and atmosphere! Great value for money. Would highly recommend. Some really interesting variations on known dishes - loved the sauce on the confit👍 the spiced bread with the foie gras was delicious.

This lovely eatery managed to fit us in after we had been diverted through the region due to a car crash on one of the larger roads. A chef from a pizzeria in a neighbouring village could not fit us in for lunch but kindly called the owner of L'Escalier. The owner was friendly and the waiting staff incredibly friendly. They spoke to us in a mixture of French and English. They offered a bespoke sharing tapas style starter for the children and then divided a lovely beef main course between them. We ordered the beef too and my wife the tuna steak. The food was delicious, the service fast and friendly. A lovely pit stop! Thank you so much. x

Arriving late, the waitress serves me a small dinner aperitif because the kitchen is closed. Warmly welcomed by an available, welcoming waitress

Refined cuisine, quality products, impeccable service, very attentive. We asked for a snacked tuna and it was delicious! The Rioja was very balanced, fruity and very good value for money. Don’t hesitate to ask for details of the accompaniments: the homemade fries are delicious and the raw vegetables in salad a real discovery We will come back !! Well done !!

The place is worth a visite. Nothing here will be basic. Great french as well as spicy dishes with a twist. Eat with soft music and the boss smile and kindness. In summer book. Thank you

Under new management now we wanted you to try this restaurant. Also, most places are closed on Mondays but this nice little corner restaurant was open. Good service, nice smallish French menu and we all had different things. All very good. Beautiful tuna steak for me. Decent portions and nicely cooked. Owner appears to serve , cook, and clean up by himself so impressive! Would recommend if not wanting a fancy meal. Good value!

Beaucoup d originalité, de générosité une touche d exotisme et un mélange de saveurs parfait. Laissez vous tenter par le petit apéritif maison qui vous surprendra, un tout petit verre qui vous laissera un souvenir inoubliable. Les cuissons sont justes, les parts copieuses et le patron très agréable. Et cerise sur le gâteau les prix sont très abordables.
