Maison du Charolais sur Charolles

A very interesting route, even for those "in the business" or close to the farmers 😉. Very glad I made this little detour on my holiday route.

Excellent meat, fast service despite the crowds. I recommend it.

A fantastic culinary experience and a discovery of the history of Charolais beef.

A rather disappointing experience at La Table de la Maison du Charolais. The selection was already quite limited, with several dishes unavailable on an otherwise small menu. In the evening, the restaurant only accepts reservations: we saw several customers turned away even though there were only about five occupied tables in a largely empty dining room, which left a rather strange impression. The meal was decent but not memorable. For an establishment dedicated to Charolais beef, we were particularly disappointed by the meat being cooked to a medium standard. The dessert didn't improve matters: the French toast was hard. In the end, nothing catastrophic, but given the prices and the reputation of the place, we expected much better. The value for money seemed poor.

For lovers of very good meat! Remember to book.

Good, fun. Allow 1 hour 15 minutes just for the visit, to give the children time to absorb the information. Nice shop. No raw meat for sale.
