Noglu sur Paris

The food was nice but there was a mouse walking around the restaurant and it ruined everything

The place is not very welcoming, a little dark and rustic, and no prices are displayed for the pastries… I still tried the éclair at the café, the most successful of all (well inflated, on the contrary others which seemed very small), and I can say that the cream and the topping were delicious, even if the choux was a little dry... however, €7 is too much. I also tried a seeded baguette, €3, it is very thin and the crust has a bit of a particular taste, but the interior is well honeycombed. In short, it’s expensive and it’s more or less worth it, there are good things and bad things…

We have visited Noglu before -- both in New York City and in Paris. We appreciate the effort that this bakery goes to in order to create authentic French pastries -- and it is clear that they have taken time to perfect the art around this, but I feel like the quality is just average as there are now more gluten free bakeries around to which we can compare the creations. Generally speaking, the price point at Noglu is a bit higher than other Paris gluten free bakeries. While we are willing to pay for good gluten free pastries (especially croissants), the texture and taste is not nearly as fresh and enjoyable, for us, than other gluten free bakeries. We also find the variety of products offered to be much more limited and we end up leaving with only one or two things whereas at other bakeries we are tempted by so many other options. We do appreciate that they offer hot meal options -- the breakfast sandwich is a nice option, and definitely fresh -- so we would recommend trying those options -- you can find the menu on the website ahead of your visit -- just make sure you pay attention to which location you are selecting as there are two in Paris.

Hands down, best gluten free croissant and pain au chocolat, probably in the world. That’s enough to earn five stars, even if everything is a bit expensive!

Hard to find great gluten free options in Europe; especially France. Great little hidden away restaurant with really friendly staff and a great quaint atmosphere. We really enjoyed the lasagne and the veggie burger. A lovely place-highly recommended
